In room dining on the DDP

We would very much like to try "room service" on our September stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but can't find much information/many experiences on-line. Has anyone used the 2TS to have a meal delivered to their room? Is the gratuity included? Any specific experiences at AKL? Thanks in advance.

We haven’t used the dining plan for room service but did order lunch one day a few years ago. All of the restaurants at AKL are excellent from the Mara right on up to Jiko. The room service was terrible.

I was really surprised how awful it was because AKL is known for having arguably the best food in property. I hope our experience wasn’t the norm, but I wouldn’t risk wasting 2 credits on room service when I can go to Jiko for the same “price”.

FWIW, I asked a similar question regarding in-room dining @ the Yacht Club. Responses were positive in regards to food quality and service! That said, as BuzzyBelle has stated above, it may not be the best use of 2 credits, so I’m planning on doing room service breakfast oop. I’m an early riser (5 am is late for me, lol) and like a light something to eat by 7 am.
