I am thinking that it would be nice to have someone watch our 3 yr old while we take the 3 older kids to a late night EMH during our next trip.

Is there an inroom child care service run by Disney or are they all independent ?

I read about Kids Nite Out and Fairy Godmother's but I am wondering if they are Disney run.

Has anyone used them ? How are they ? What are the costs for Fairy Godmother's ?

I saw that Kids Nite Out is 14.00 an hr, plus an 8.00 transportation fee, and an extra 2.00 if it's after 9pm. So that means we would be paying 16.00 an hr for 4 hrs minimum.

Disney does not have an in room baby sitting service, they are all outside companies. The WDW hotel front desk will recommend Kids Nite Out, but Fairy Godmother's also has a high presence on the property. Both companies are reputable and used often by WDW guests. I have never personally used either, but I use to work front desk at WDW and always heard great things about both. I am not sure the pricing for Fairy Godmothers, but here is their phone number in case you want to call and speak to them directly :

We have used both and they are the best sitters we have ever had! Even tho they are pricey, they are worth every penny. They always give me a detailed run-down of the time we were away and our child(ren) are always happy, clean, feed, and the room is in order.

We have used them with children as young as 2 in order to have time with the older children and as recently as this summer with our almost-5 yr old.

I always leave food or money for room service. They prefer to not leave the room but will take them on walks if you want them to. They will not take them to the parks, swimming, or off the resort property. We always exchange cell phone numbers, too.

As a rule, we are very picky about childcare and we were nervous the first time we used them. After that first time, we were sold on their services and have used them about once a year. Not only does it give a young child a quite break from the parks, it make the older ones feel special to have time with you.

Our DGD got sick once and the sitter called us before the vomiting started, telling us the initial symptoms (grouchy, gassy, fidgety, etc...). I was very impressed that they noticed the little changes in a child they did not know very well and called us. We talked on the phone a couple of times and then I started back to the room. Before I got there, DGD started to vomit and she informed me immediately. When I got back to the room, everything was cleaned up, DGD was resting comfortably on her lap in clean PJs being comforted, and all was calm. I was quite impressed that she had everything under control and even keep me updated by phone. I had imagined that I would be walking into a stinky room and messy child but it was completely the opposite.

PM me if you have specific questions.
