In Room celebrations

I have just been onto Disneyflorist.com as people on here have suggested that this is the only way that I can have a surprise delivered to our room on Christmas Eve/Day for my wife. I cant believe thier prices. I cant afford any of the In room Celebrations that they list. $375. Wow

Im thinking I might just get her one of the stocking sthat they have listed, but for $70 they look quite small. Its the surprise factor I wanted when she walked through the door after a day at the park to see baloons/presents/christmas treats etc, but the prices are astronomical. We could have a night at the Grand Floridian instead!!!

Well I agree.....almost anything Disney is expensive, but you have to remember its Christmas eve or day your asking to bring someone out to delivier flowers.....

ts not the delivery cost, or the timing. The prices are fixed throughout the year. Its the cost of anything on their website. If I asked for the room to be decorated in Summer it would still cost up to $300.

You can try ordering from FTD or another place on line that makes gift baskets and have it delivered to the hotel. That would be cheaper, of course it will be delivered to the front desk not your room so you would have to somehow get it up to your room. Maybe bell services would do it for you? Years ago when my kids where small and still belived in Santa I shipped a whole boxload of stuff to the Poly and had the room all decorated for when they arrived. It was pretty awesome. So another option would be do make something yourself and then ship it down. Although some of the hotels now charge for receiving a delivery. Again you would have to find a way to get it into the room.

I agree the Disney prices are a bit insane. I realize it is Disney and there is a bit of a premium for such things, but for the price they charge you really aren't getting much so it makes it difficult to want to do.

I checked and it seems you are indeed correct.........a few years ago we had to pay a extra $80.00 delivery fee for Easter Day delivery of 2 easter baskets for the grandkids......

I think thats the best advise I have had yet. Although there isnt really much of an option. $380 for a few boxes, a happy holidays banner and some balloons. Wow. I still cant believe it. If it were cheaper everyone would do it and Disney would make a fortune.

I think Ill visit the Christmas shop in Downtown Disney and get a load of goodies and try and decorate the room. Its just getting an hour on my own from my wife that will be the major problem. She will guess Im up to something the minute I do dit. Hence why I wanted someone to just deliver something to the room which wouldnt have taken them long while we were out at a park.

I was able to modify it for our needs, changing beer brands, adding Mickey ears. It costs a bunch, but is packed full of stuff. Tons of snacks and beer. Since it has alcohol, you have to check in 1st and then they will delivery it to you room. The cooler is now our absolute favorite! We use it alot and take it on all of our trips now. It keeps items very cold, has two pouches and handles. This was a huge hit with my family and worth every penny.

I too just checked into an in room celebration for Christmas and the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas tree. The in- room celebration is $375 plus delivery/set up fees and the Christmas tree is $395.00 plus $15 set up fee. You can also have the tree shipped home for an additional $99.

I'd love to do an in-room celebration but at the price- for what you get it just doesn't seem worth it. I'm not trying to be cheap but seriously- has anyone done an in room celebration for $375 and had it be worth the expense?

My kids are 17 and 13 and this is our first vacation away from home at Christmas. We will be there from 12/17-12/26 and just wanted to do something extra for the holiday

Many people have done it, because they still offer the service.

Is it worth it? Only you can decide that.

I have had in room celebrations almost every time we go and love them. You can also try gifts of a lifetime, check them out on Facebook.
They set up an awesome scavenger hunt at Epcot for my family for hubby's birthday and our anniversary gift.

We splurged on the Romance/Minnie & Mickey ("From Mickey and Minnie With Love") room for my parent's 40th the last time we went to WDW.

Let me make myself very clear - my brother and I made a rational, mutual decision that regardless of the cost we were doing this because the anniversary was the focal point of our grand gathering/reunion/return to WDW AND our parents were the driving force behind the visit. We KNEW it was probably overpriced etc, etc but 1) the surprise factor was SO worth it and 2) they still talk about it.

Only negative - the mousekeeping team claimed that they had complaints when they had cleaned the rose petals up the next day in prior deliveries so those petals stuck around until my parents actually requested (in person) that the room be vacuumed. WDW POR was MORE than apologetic and gave them a little extra sumthin' for their anniversary/trouble. What amazing service!

We could have taken them to signature dining (mmm not so much with the kids), we could have bought them a tour...no they wanted to stay with the g'kids. This just worked out for the best for us. So, in my experience, it is a great service if you KNOW it will cost $$$$ and are ok with that AND want the surprise/once in a lifetime factor (a dozen fairy-kissed roses... my mom was in tears alone from the extravagance of that!). That said, my SIL and I made bags with autograph books, lanyards, pens, stickers etc and treats for the same visit (our kiddo's 1st) as it was far more cost effective than the packages offered by the service. It all depends what you are looking for and you feel is "ok" to pay for it.

I am just so cheap... I am wondering if you packed something up yourself if you could bribe bell services to put it in your room on at a specific time and date.

You could purchase a great gift basket or maybe even fed-ex, ups a basket to the resort a day or two before and have them hold it for you. Sneak back and get the surprise, decorate the room...

Or even if they have to deliver it the day before... decorate the box it arrives in all crazy with cartoonish "do not open until Christmas" "Fairy godmother is watching you no peeking" banners to heighten the suspense.

It sounds like the in room celebrations are really great according to the other posters and my idea really lacks the WOW of the in room decorating but... the price is STEEEEEP!
