Has anyone ever used the in-room babysitting service?

What was your experience like?

Would you recommend it?

We are going in Dec. My kids will be 2 and 4. We've never left them with anyone except family. I'm a SAHM so they've never been in the care of "strangers". I admit, the thought gives me a lot of anxiety, but DH and I would like 1 dinner out alone.

Thoughts??

I feel exactly the same way. My DDs will be 6 and 3 on our trip in November. I am slo a SAHM and my husband and I would love to have dinner alone at Le Cellier BUT.....
I"m sure its safe...it's disney after all...and if there were ever any complaints about this service, I'm sure word would have gotten out somehow.
I think my kids would be fine with it...I just don't have that trust in strangers.

We plan on using an in-room sitter. Until recently, my kids have only stayed with family. They now have a regular sitter two days a week and they love the change of pace. My sitter only watches my little guys. I also have an 8y/o so when we are at Disney, at least she can report back to me about how the sitter was. I have faith that Disney would not recommend a service that would jeopardize our kids safety. Maybe you can google the companies to see if anyone had any negative reviews...

We moms deserve a night out..especially in Disney:)

I have seen a place called NannyPoppinz.com talked about here with great reviews. Can't speak of them myself, but they have an office in Orlando.

I would love to hear what you think if you use them.

:)

We booked a night out with Kids Nite Out, they are the service that Disney recommends. I am a little nervous as well but I really am looking forward to a night out with DH. We're going to Flying Fish, then over to Epcot for Illuminations and maybe a little time at Jellyrolls if we aren't completely wiped out! We're going in a month so I will be sure to report back on how it goes.

While it is not something I would use, I know many do use them. I would just google their company and look for reviews. Keep in mind that there are good and bad reviews of everything. I think overall you have to decide if you are going to be comfortable with it. Do your research and make a decision based on your feelings. You can't go wrong then!

If you decide that it will stress you out too much you can always put the kids to bed and order room service for you and dh!
Good luck and have a great trip!

maybe you could try one night and stay in the resort. Not as exciting as really getting out but if you are like hubby and me, any second alone is special (we have 4 kids). And if all goes well, ask that person back and venture further to a park. Your 4 year old should be able to report back somewhat. But if you are really stressed about it, skip it. The kids will pick up how you feel and not be happy at all.

We are going to use it AND make our 16 and 14 year olds stay in the villa and keep an eye out. Our little ones are 2 and 3. I never leave them anywhere either, and have a lot of anxiety about it. With the 3 year old able to converse more, I feel better though and am trying out a local drop in day care for an hour here and there.

I have used Fairy Godmothers in the past (when my kids were much younger, probably aged 2 and 4) she was fantastic! Just like my own mother - in her early 60s, very well put together. We stayed at GF and did V and A that night. The kids were so tired they were in bed early anyway!

We are using them again with our upcoming trip, now I have 3 - the youngest will be around 22 months at the time of travel. My older two are 9 and 6 now. They could do the Mousketeer club but I didn't want the baby to be alone. It's perfectly fine!

Our sitter's name was Joyce. I hope to request her again.

Hope this helps!
