Hi! Planning first trip to Disney this April (and just booked it last month so a compressed planning time frame compared to most folks here!) Two boys, just turned 7 and 4.5. On the last night we’re there MK has after dark party hours (10pm to 1am) but my kids won’t have the stamina for that. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on using an in-room sitter while the kids sleep so my husband and I can attend? We’re staying at the Poly in Deluxe Studio so my concern is that it’s awkward for a sitter to just be in the dark with the kids? Or do they sit in patio or balcony? And not totally sure how kids would react if they woke up to a stranger there, although we would prep them of course. Just not sure how this works or if I should accept it’s not feasible.
Would love to hear any input from more experienced goers, thanks!!

We used Kids Night Out on our last trip in June at the Beach Club. My husband and I walked around Epcot then did the pool at our hotel. My kids were 9, 5, and 2. The sitter came to the room to meet us (we fed them dinner before) and she brought some games to play (I think Uno card game and something else). We also left a card with some money for the arcade. For us it worked out great, I think my daughter was asleep when we returned but the boys were up watching a movie (around 11).
I believe there are time minimums so you may want to have them come earlier and you could do dinner and then the event. I think the sitters are used to the dark room and can put a movie on.
