I am looking at booking the first week of December. I have NEVER been to disney during christmas and I realllllllllly want to.. ok here is my situation.

I have points to pay for my hotel so I dont need to worry about a hotel, but as far as for tickets and airlines.. how should I go about getting the best deal?

Is it super crowed the first week of december?
Are the hours good? ( are they open long)
what is the weather usually like in december...
and are there any changes I need to know about or anything going on that week??
I think that is it for right now.. thanks so much!

Hi Buga bugga!
Right now I'm book for Dec 3-7, but may change that. I've heard crowds are manageable, the closer to Christmas, the heavier the crowds.
Also, the hours from last year are short mid-week and longer Thu - Sun I believe. Someone posted a link to last years hours on another thread and if I can find it, I'll post it here. As far as weather goes, that's one of my big questions since my mom has arthritis (which is why I might change to November). Everyone keeps directing me to Hydroguys Thread - one of the stickys that shows the weather for the year. Looks like Average is 70 with much wider highs and lows. Also, Candlelight Processional might be Dec 6 and 7 and that will be very busy, I've heard. Hope this helps!

First week of December will likely see two busy days for Candlelight processional, and two other nights where DL closes early (but DCA will be open later, I believe) for the CM parties.

We went the 5th through the 9th last year and it was great! Light-ish crowds (Thanksgiving was done and kids weren't out of school yet for xmas), decorations up, holiday parades, etc. Fabulous!

I've worn shorts and tank tops in November and December, but I've also worn jackets, hats and mittens another year. So you never know what you're going to get until right before your trip.

I went around the 10th of December & the one thing i would recommend (in addition to all of HydroGuy's tip threads) is confirming the dates of the processional & the cast members party (partys?) & plan accordingly.

You'd hate to plan a trip for a couple of days & find out DL closes at 6 one of the nights (we missed it by one night). Also on weekend nights during the "holiday season" ALOT of locals come out for a few hours to see the lights & sights etc. Plan on touring early in the day & collecting FPs (which is ALWAYS a good plan fwiw).

If i were you I would re-ask the question & specifically ask what nights are the processionals & what nights (this year) are the cast member partys.

Regarding the weather for us. 60s during the day & 50s at night. For the season it was perfect. :thumbsup2

The OP could do that, however, no one really knows the answer until DLR officially releases the dates. There's been lots of speculation, but we won't know until the fall the specific dates for both events.

It would be very helpful it they could release dates of annual events at least a year in advance for the MANY people who make plans that early...
