Could someone please explain the difference in these. I have read the VMK site about the quests and getting VMK stuff, but what is this tour thing all about? And there must be an order they have to be taken in, as this voucher for finding the hidden Mickeys allows you to not take certain ones as would be required? Have not been to a Park since VMK so a little confusing...

At Disneyland park if you complete 4 quests (answering all answers correct) you get a card for the Tour (the card has a code that gives you VIP badge in the game) :cheer2:

The Tour is fun, it lasts about 2 hours and you are backdoored on Jungle Cruise, Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion. :teeth: Along the tour the guide will ask questions and when you answer correctly she'll give out vmk cards with codes for cool things. After you are done riding Haunted Mansion, you are given the haunted Mansion quest... you answer the questions (6 of them...I believe) and you give the card back to your guide, get on the train and go back to Innoventions. Then they take you to the vmk are in there and people who don't have characters can create them, if you want to create another to get all the created in the park goodies you could. The guide then gives you all the cards that you earned from Haunted Mansion Quest and the VMK Gold Stuff Card (that's not what it's called but that's what the card gives you a bunch of gold items)

From the looks of the printed coupon it's good for the tour. In my opinion if you are going there anyways - You might as well complete the quests and get all of those goodies as well. Make sure that you go straight to the vmk kiosk and sign up for the tour first thing. It is good for 4 people and the tours fill up fast. I think they offer two per day.

Let me know if you have any additional questions... now that I wrote a book... hope that helps.

sorry just trying to see if my sigmature thing worked so i needed to post something :)

just seeing if my sig worked posting to my self anyhow lol

As of yesterday, 8-30 they are only allowing 2 people per tour card. 1 guest only, not 3. The tours are at 1:30 and 5:00. Don't know about WDW. We booked the 1:30 tour and at 1:45 or so they told us our tour giude called in sick or something??? To make up for it they gave us VMK stuff from the tour, we each got the 500 credit card, Backstage pass to the ride of our choice and escorted us to the Fastpass line for Buzz. Plan on going back to try and get a real tour.

I'm going today. My cards say good for four people, I wonder if they would still honor that. :confused3

I'm going up today, but I can't do the tour cause I did it less than a month ago. Do you have room for 1 0r 2 more? It would be fun to meet you.

Or I can just go and say hi, if you know what time you'll be doing the tour. It's always fun to meet Dis people and VMKers!

When I asked you could only win the tour every 30 days. As long as you can get somebody else to win it you can tour again.

I didn't see this until now (just got back from Disneyland) We didn't get to do the tour because they were completely full. I had to pick up my DD friend on the way.

But I did have my friend who has no interest in the game complete the quests and give me the cards :) what a sickness. I also helped out three boys who wanted teleportation so bad but forgot to print their tomorrowland quest. I of course had one in my purse with all the answers filled out... I went up to them while they were talking to a cast member and said "say thank you mom!" One of the guys looked at me like I was from mars but a second later they were like "Cool"

It would have been fun to meet up :goodvibes

I almost forgot - they are only allowing 2 people per tour card and the cast member said something under his breath about them maybe changing the waiting period from 30 to 60 days. :faint:

Lots of good answers for Disneyland so I'll answer for WDW. At the present time you have to compete at least 3 of the 4 quests to take the tour. With your coupon you can take the tour without completing the quests. All you have to do is get to the park early, go to VMK Central to turn in your coupon for a tour card (series 1 card number 30 of 30), and then go to Town Hall to sign up for the 12:30 or 4:30pm tours. After you do that you have plenty of time before the tour to do the quests and get your prizes from them.

The tour starts with an overview of how the VMK name was obtained and some of the similarity between VMK and the real parks. During this time you will get your first glimpse of the VMK flip book that has a lot of information about VMK past, present, and future in it. The first attraction you usually go on is the Jungle Cruise where you get on through the exit and have your own boat just for the tour guests. During the cruise questions are asked and the first person to answer them gets a card. After the cruise there is another glimpse at the flip book and you usually head to Big Thunder. There the group will go in the FASTPASS line and if the group is close to the 20 guest maximum will get your own train. Next there is another question time with prizes given out. This is the point where the group heads to the Haunted Mansion. At WDW the Haunted Mansion Quest is given out before you ride the attraction to allow the first quest question to be answered. You enter the Haunted Mansion through the handicap entrance ("servants hallway") and enter into the first lobby (before the "elevators"). After the mansion ride the group heads to an area where the Haunted Mansion Quest is checked and prizes given out. Next it is back to VMK Central where you view a short computer presentation and get the last prize.

Did you get the impression that is was just for Tour cards or for all prizes? We're going to try and go again on Monday. What time did you get to the park? On Tuesday by 11am we had the last 4 slots for the 1:30 tour. The 5:00 had about 3 slots taken. Planning on getting there early and hopefully this time we'll get a tour. :earboy2:

I usually print up 10 or so Tomorrowland Quests and either give them to the CM and/or give them to folks with APs. I'll sometimes give them the answers that are harder to figure out, dates and what rides were first, etc. Usually let them figure out the ones that can be done in Tomorrowland. :teeth:

The new tour cards (series 1 card number 30 of 30) only allow two guests per card and are only redeemable every 90 days. There is a big gray area as to if they will allow you to do the tour more often then every 90 days if you go with somebody else that has the card. As you can get a card by doing the quests every 30 days, it doesn't make sense to limit the tour to every 90 days IMO.

Note: I have been bumped from a tour because of the 90 day limit. I did not read the fine print that differed between the old and new tour cards.

Did you get bumped after you signed up and showed up for the tour? When I redeemed our cards they only scanned the tour card and took our names from the APs. Didn't even scan the guest APs.

I got bumped while in line for tour at VMK Central. This was after I was already on the tour list. At Town Hall they did not even ask for pass - just looked at tour card and asked my name.

I was in the line to get the badge and communication device and was talking to a VMK Central Cast Member. He asked if he had seen me recently and I said about 2 weeks ago when I did the Tomorrowland Quest. The tour guide must have overheard our conversation and when I got to the head of the line he asked me if I had done the tour 2 weeks ago. I said no that I had done the tour just a little over a month ago. He asked me for my VMK Tour card and after checking the fine print told me I could not do the tour till 90 days was up. He was very polite about it, but didn't show any sign of making an exception so I said OK I'd see him in 2 months. I was not very pleased about it, since I had spent the whole morning in the park just puttering around waiting for the tour. However it wasn't worth making a fuss over either, so I just went home. I have friends coming in about 4 weeks from now and will see if they will let me on the tour as their guest. If I have to I'll offer to not get any of the prizes if they will not let me on the tour otherwise.

I sure hope they will let you on the tour with your friends! I'm sure your friends would be sad if you couldn't go on the tour with them! ;)

I have never seen anyone mention if there is an age limit? I am going with my DD who is 4 1/2 and I plan on us taking the tour.

She loves all 3 rides so that will be a lot of fun for her.

She does not really play just yet but likes sitting with me as I play what she calls "friends and chairs" and likes to make my character pink. So if I am eer in a room with you running around wildly I am probably pretending to play falling chairs.

Do you get to choose the time for the tour or do you have one assigned. We are going in December but I would like to take the 4:30 tour, not the 12:30 one. Will I get to choose the time?

Also, all three of us(myself and 2 DDs) each have a tour coupon for completing the Hidden Mickey Quest. So we will only need one coupon or will we need two? It sounds like they are only letting one + one guest even though the coupon says it is good for the coupon + 3 guests.

Speaking from first hand experience I suspect. :cool1:

I do not think there is a minimum age for the tour. On my first tour we had a very young child in a stroller with us. As long as they can board the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion attractions they should be fine.

You can do the quests for both of you and get double the prizes for those also.
