Hello all!

My name is Steve I was referred to this site by a friend that said it helped her immensely when she was planning a Disney Trip. So I figure I would ask the experts here.

This January I was told that I am finally cancer free (which is some of the best news ever). With that great news, my fiance and I are trying to take a vacation. It is very short notice, but it was simply the time that she could get off from work.

In the three years we have been together we have never gotten to do a real vacation and so we were hoping that we might be able to do Disney. I have read about staying on property, meal plans and park hopper passes. I know that there are good times to go and bad times to go and I think we might be in one of those bad times to go. I guess here is the real issue and I am sure that it comes up a ton, we have to do this on a budget. We are still paying hospital bills and are trying to get married in October.

Where is the best place to post on these forums to try and get advice and pointers for doing a budget conscious but impromptu trip to Disney in Florida?

There will be 2 of us going, just she and I, we have off March 19th through the 23rd. Also we can drive to FL, as we live in VA.

Thanks for any information or advice.

Steve

Congratulations on the excellent news! I'd head over to the Budget Board. People there share ideas about how to save and plan for a Disney vacation while saving money.

congrats on the great news!!!!! I agree with previous poster, check budget boards and driving will save a lot!

Great news Steve! The Budget Board is a great place to start. You'll need to make some choices between staying onsite at a Disney hotel or at an offsite hotel. Since you'll already have a car, you may want to consider staying offsite if your budget is tight. The Orlando Board is a great place to find offsite hotels/etc. If you want to stay onsite, the Resorts Board will help you choose a Disney hotel. I will say that I think you can do without "park hopping" and save yourself over $100 right there.
