In Memory Of The Towel Art

Hahaha, I joked to the family that she probably used them to clean the toilets.

Yep that is a nightmare. I can't help but think "what if they knocked it over and it touched the floor or the counter", but I'm that way even if I share the room with someone, not just housekeeping. HAHA. Not very rational but what phobia/pervasive quirk is ever rational. I have a travel case and when I leave the room the toothbrush goes in my toiletry bag. If I'm in the room or not getting cleaning that day I'll leave it out but all other times it's in the case.

We received this mouse at AKL in April 2015. :)

The towel arts were retired because people expected them every night in every room and not all housekeepers had the time or the skills to make them. So, guests would go to Disney World thinking there would be something in their room every night and when there wasn't, some of those guests would complain.

Unfortunately, it was the internet and the outflow of information that kind of doomed this art.

It's like a post I saw on Facebook - "the good thing about being over the age of 40 is that we did all our stupid stuff before the internet".
Not true at all!!!! Have a friend who is a manager. Is responsible for housekeeping...several bldgs at one hotel as well as other things and depts for those bldgs.
Had NOTHING to do with demands or people keeping them. People were told they were welcome to keep the small ones.

It probably didn't help that people were taking the towels home. How many towels did they have to replace due to this? I think we got one mickey head towel on our first stay and it didn't occur to me to take it home. My parents brought home a snowman for my daughter. I'll have to find it post a pic.
EXACTLY! People were told it was fine to take the small ones home! :)
