In Laws "stuck" with us

getting on the Wonder tomorrow. It was supposed to be a family cruise with my in laws ( in their late 70's,)my sister in law, 27 yr old son, 28 yard old daughter and her hubby. The in laws were so excited.
4 weeks ago, my daughter announced she was pregnant (first child) and the doctor said no way for the cruise to the Carribean because of Zika. My in laws were bummed. One week later my son accepts a new job and guess what- no cruise for him. In laws were even more bummed- even thought about cancelling since the cruise was really about the grandkids. But, they decided to go anyway

Now, my wife feels the pressure of being the "Cruise Director". This is my in laws first cruise ever so she wants it to be special for them. We're sure the Disney pixie dust will win them over from the disappointment of no grandkids.

Excited, curious and a little anxious all at the same time. but, after all, what a great place to be "stuck"

It will be ok. I recently travel with my mother and my sister-in-law mother in there 70's. They had a very good time. I'll recommend bring them to shows and pacing activities to their energy levels. Don't sweat leaving them alone once in a while.

I just brought my 77yo MIL on her very first cruise in November. She LOVED it. My advice would be to take slow and not try to do everything. We did some activities together, but she was happy as could be to just go wander around on her own just looking at the ship and making small talk with other passengers. We would just meet up at a certain time. Her favorite places were the adult pool area (she made soooo many friends there LOL), deck 4 loungers and the art gallery. We went to the nightly shows and she was just blown away. She was born and raised in rural Maine and never went anywhere other than to visit her family in Canada. We are taking another cruise in two weeks with my SIL.

i really hope the pixie dust works on my mom and dad too! my mom is only doing this cruise for the grandkids! Hope that you guys have a wonderful trip!

I brought my 84 year old aunt on the Wonder who never could understand my obsession with Disney. She was blown away and made friends with all the officers and the staff could not do enough for her. By the end of the cruise she knew just about everyone!!! She loved the shows, the dining room and just walking on deck 4.

I took her to WDW on another trip and loved that too. She finally understood my obsession!!

UPDATE
The in laws loved it! It took my MIL a couple days to get used to the walking and the boat. Her favorite day was in port where she stayed on her verandah and enjoyed the sun, the quiet and the people watching. My father in law loved everything- food, shows, the whole thing

Pixie dust worked and who knows, they may go again
