In honor of Walt Disney World's 40th Anniversary, here are some photos and scans I'd like to share.

When's the last time you paid 50 cents to park at WDW?

Thanks for stopping by! :goodvibes

Wonderful memorabilia! Thank you for sharing!!!

Very Cool Mike...I also remember those ticket books....wish now I had saved the left overs.

Great pics. My first trip was in 1977 so I share those same memories and also have lots of memorabilia from those early trips. Thanks for posting them.

Mike, thanks for sharing your memories with us. I could kick myself now for now discovering WDW until the 90's.

Some interesting calculations from an inflation adjustment calculator.

Parking
$0.50 in 1977 would be $1.78 in today's dollars yet parking is now $14.00.

2-day pass
$20.00 in 1980 would be $52.22 in today's dollars yet a 2-day MYW non-hopper ticket is now $168.00+tax.

It's a good thing that the government doesn't include the cost of a Disney vacation when calculating the CPI.

Cool stuff, wish we'd saved some of ours, we were there in the early 70's too.

Hmmmm.... wow...so pricing isn't TOO bad.

True... a 2 day pass in 1980 inflation adjusted may be only $52.22 today... BUT.... that is only 1 park..... Since then we have had 3 additional parks open.

So cool!
We went to Disney twice when I was a child and both times were in the mid to late '70s. I remember the ticket books and I know we bought mouse ears but I don't have anything left from those trips. Except happy memories, of course! ;)
