In general, how are the salads at the Counter service places across WDW?

I love a good salad, but I am picky and want my veggies extra fresh and not salads that have been premade and sitting around for hours.
How are the salads across WDW for Counter Service places? Are there any places that have some better then others?

I would definitely say some salads are better than others. Gasparilla Grill (at GF) and Contempo Cafe (at CR) both make their salads fresh, and I find them much better than the pre-made salads in the parks. In particular, the lobster cobb salad at Gasparilla, and the chopped salad at Contempo, are delicious.

Sunshine Seasons at Epcot also doesn't pre-make their salads, but I think the lettuce is just sitting with dressing on it, which I don't like.

POR and I think the FQ PO also offer fresh home made salads the way you want them made. If in Epcot, the salads at Sunshine Seasonas are made to order.

Can you please give a little more info on the chopped salad at the Contempo, ie what ingredients, any cheese, what is the dressing? Thanks!

Here are the salads at Contempo Cafe:

Chicken Caesar - with garlic croutons

Chicken Chop Salad - mixed greens, corn, black beans, tomatoes, cucumbers and avocado-buttermilk dressing (the avocado flavor isn't too strong)

Roasted Curry Vegetable Bulgur Salad - zucchini, squash, eggplant, vine-ripe tomatoes, onions, dried cherries and Romaine hearts in a yogurt-pesto dressing

Steakhouse Salad - marinated beef, mixed greens shaved red onions, goat cheese, and vine-ripe tomatoes with mustard dressing

The hydroponic area inside The Land area supplies many WDW restaurants and counter services with fresh lettuce. We've had some very good, crisp salads at Sunshine Seasons inside of The Land Pavilion.

One of my favorite CS salads is in DHS:
Fairfax Salad - chopped romaine, chili, tomato, roasted corn, sweet peppers, Monterey Jack, and corn tortillas, served with a jalapeno ranch dressing $7.79

They're freshly made & you can add/subtract any items in the description. (I don't like crunchy chips in mine). It's super delish!!! Restaurantosausus in AK has something similar (they call it a Dig Site Salad), but I've never tried the one there. Other AK salad options are the caesar salad & antipasto salad at AK. For some strange reason, I really like their caesar. It's got a tangy dressing & it always hits the spot. DH really likes Pizzafari b/c they have a nicely air conditioned seating area.

I know others have already mentioned Sunshine Seasons, but that's another fave of mine. The seared tuna salad & the goat cheese salad are both really yummy! My favorite salad at MK isn't very healthy- it's the taco salad at Pecos Bill. I love adding their salsa, shredded cheese, grilled onions, & sour cream. The nice layer of fresh iceburg at the bottom is on the only reason for calling this concoction a "salad," lol. However, there is a new MK salad that I want to try during our next trip: the steak & bleu cheese salad at Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace. I'm anxiously awaiting a review for that one.
