Hello All!!!! I thought I would ask you guys about this rather than be on hold for an hour and a half with ATA. My question is do you have to buy the headphones provided by ATA or can you just take your own??? I didn't know if my kids Sony Walkman headphones would work or if you had to buy those if you wanted to listen to the in-flight entertainment. Thanks for the help!!!

Tyler

They are just normal headphone jacks. You should be able to use the ones from your walkman.. BTW they are 3.00 to buy

Thanks for your help. I think it is stupid to have to pay for headphones when my kids have 3 pairs each!! This way I won't have to find someplace to put these when we get home.

There headphones on all the airlines are rediculously crappy!! You can't even listen to music with them. I prefer my Apple iPod headphones much more! :rockband:

I did not know that some airlines charge for headsets. I fly Delta Song regularly, and they provide the {cheap} headphones, but since they are regular headphone jacks, I guess you could use your own.

So do i need one of those headphone adapters for ATA aircraft or will I be ok with the just the headphones???? I looked at a pic of this adapter and it kind of looks like the end of an antennae or the end of a cable line you plug in to your tv. Does anybody know if ATA has this of not????????

we last flew ATA in October and the headphones are different than regular headphones. They have 2 prongs instead of one like regular headphones. They sold them on the plane for $1.00 a pair. They were nice to have because they showed TV shows and the only way you could hear was with the headphones.

Thank you for verifying the whole prong thing. I think I will just buy the headphones on the plane because an adapter is $5.00 so it will be cheaper that way. Thanks again!!!!
