I plan on proposing to my girlfriend at walt disney this coming trip and i really am in need of some advice. Ive heard of the proposals being done at Cinderellas Royal Table. But im looking for something a little grander than that. Does Disney world have proposal packages? Ive already done a little work so far ive managed to get a us a brick on the walkway in front of the magic kingdom with our names and the date i plan on proposing to her. Im a little lost and i really want this to be special. Ive looked at some of the disney florist stuff but i still feel it should be more. Whatever ideas or suggestions you can come up with id really appreciate.

I know there used to be a package available for things like proposals at Magic Kingdom. You could have a little table in the rose garden by the castle all set up and propose there. Disney sets it up, all you have to do is show up. I'm not sure if they are still doing this but I know it's happened in the past. You could try calling Disney. I'm not exactly sure who to talk to. Actually the people at Weddings might know so you could try them first. Just a thought...

Good luck!

Last I heard the Disney Engagement packages were discontinued (I was snooping around before I got engaged at Disney :lmao: ) but I think there might be outside vendors that offer different packages with a lot of unique ideas... anyone know any more info about that? Sorry I'm not more helpful!

You could try working with the Pixies at http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/. They're not affiliated with WDW, but it looks like they can still pull off some cool surprises in the parks and in the area! Good luck! :thumbsup2

Yea they closed down the proposal dept. That really stinks they have some really nice preplanned events. Any other ideas guys?

Have you checked with Disney Event Planning/Meetings?

This brochure shows how at Disney, ANYTHING is possible...

I'm sure you can set up something special with them, and I hope the brochure gives you a few different ideas.

I'm not sure what your budget looks like, but, for example, I inquired to Disneyland Event Planning/Meetings about hosting a dinner in the Haunted Mansion for 20 people as a celebration of DF's and my recent engagement, my sister's birthday, and my college graduation. I was told it was a min. of $10,000 and had to be done once the park closed (which is not that big of a deal!) It was a bit too pricey for our celebration at the time, but it was something they were completely willing to set up with us (and it was not through Disney Weddings.) A private dinner the two of you like that or maybe in the Great Movie Ride or something would be sooo special and just as memorable as the old list from the engagement package.

Also, another option (less expensive) would be to go through one of the hotels. My DF coordinated with The Grand Californian Resort in Disneyland to create a private dinner on the hotel balcony (not connected to a room or anything) overlooking downtown Disney and the Disneyland park. They piped in the music to Wishes and we had the BEST view of the fireworks! It was so incredibly romantic and special (especially since it was a moment shared in privacy between just us.) I'm sure the Contemporary or especially the Grand Floridian could work with you on something similar.

You can read a detailed report of my engagement on the first page of my planning journal (link is in my signature.)

Good luck and let me know if I can help you any other way!! :thumbsup2

My advice to you? Talk to the right people. I mean Cast Members. Tell as many CMs that you can what your plans are, and let them take over. Some CMs have the "authority" to execute really awesome proposals that no amount of money can buy. For an example, you can read my proposal story at the bottom of my siggie. My parents and I "ran into" a CM, and my mom told him my boyfriend was going to propose. Long story short, my family and I were the Grand Marshals at the MK, my boyfriend got into the MK for free, and the Dapper Dans sang to me in front of hundreds of people, topped off with my boyfriend asking me to marry him. While I think this is definitely extraordinary treatment, it is not uncommon for CMs to get involved like that. Disney is all about making people's dreams come true. Oftentimes, the CMs working on the "ground floor" of the corporate pyramid are the ones who follow Disney's dream the best. Talk to them!!

My fiance proposed to me at Cinderella's Royal Table and it was AMAZING! I had no idea. It was so beautiful and really neat the way that they did it. I had no idea that he had even made reservations to eat there either. So i was just as excited to be eating there and then in the end when they brought out our "dessert" I sure I had a surprise! It was awesome! and he made reservations for 8:50 so we could watch the fireworks too. They have a perfect table (table 11) and it was timed so good so after all the excitement and the proposal we had our perfect view of the fireworks from right inside the castle. It was perfect! I will have pictures soon. I just ordered them last night. They took pictures of everything! You can even get the whole thing videotaped if you want, but it is WAY more expensive. I really felt like a princess that day!

My wonderful DFi proposed to me on the beach of the Poly during Wishes (our first vacation together was at the Poly), and he followed that up with a surprise dinner at V&As.

Now, on the way up to the restaurant, in the elevator, he jokingly said I should give the ring back so that we could do it all over again at V&A's. Apparently he had spoken to them about it already, and they would have brought out the ring on a silver tray, with roses.

Funny idea, to do a "do-over", but I thought it was so special as it was, I couldn't bring myself to take the ring off!

All that being said, you could call V&As to see what they could do for you, if it's in your budget.

What about the Pick a pearl? You could coordinate it so that when she opens the oyster there is a ring in it instead?

Sarah, I read your post about your Cinderella's Royal Table proposal with great interest. I'm desparately trying to make the same arrangements for my future son-in-law. He's relying on my help (he's accompagning our family to WDW this fall) to make this a romantic, fairytale-like proposal princess: my daughter will NEVER forget:cloud9: . I'm so frustrated:headache: . I can't get ahold of the "special events" people at the CRT. I left a message weeks ago. I can't even get a regular reservation at the castle on one of the evening we'll be there (Sept 3-7th):confused3 . ANY advice would be SO appreciated. I'm so happy it worked out for you. If you have any ideas (person/phone number to contact/any connections) on how to make this magical dream come true for my daughter too please write me . . SOON:hourglass . He wanted so badly to do this on the evening of Sept 3. We hadn't expected to run into so many hurdles.
CanNOT thank you enough in advance for ANY help you might offer.

Narcoossee's restaurant at the Grand can do a specific proposal dinner. They can arrange to have either a chocolate Cinderella slipper or a chocolate rose that can hold your ring, and it can be presented at dessert. Coordinate this with the time the fireworks go off (around 10pm). Ask for Cindy or Phillip.
OR...........
Try to contact Brock Botts with the Grand Floridian. He may be able to suggest some alternatives.
