I'm looking for some in depth info on Ohana's character breakfast. I know that Lilo & Stitch are the main characters, and that the meal is family style...but that's about it. Can anyone who has been there fill me in a bit more?

Is it a smaller restaurant than say, Chef Mickey's? Do the characters go table to table? Do they pose for pics?

And perhaps a few reviews of the food? Thank you! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi! Now, I haven't done the Lilo and Stitch since they have been there. But, yes they do pose for pics. When we went, it was Minnie Mouse and friends but the food is still the same and what I can remember of it, it was good. Eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, fruit, etc.

Haven't been to the character breakfast, but have eaten at Ohana several times. If they use the entire restaurant for breakfast, it is HUGE!

We ate there twice in February 2008 and loved it! The restaurant itelf is a nice size, looks bigger to me than Chef Mickey's. The tables weren't stuck close together and there's windows lining on side of the wall with a fabulous view of MK (although it's quite far away actually). The whole motif is Polynesian with an enormous pit in the middle where the food is roasted. We loved all the ambience like the carved statues. It does have a really nice family feel to it.

We enjoyed the breakfast there so much, we ate there twice in the same trip! They bring out everything to you family style...huge platter of fluffy eggs, sausage, bacon, Mickey head waffles, fresh fruit, breakfast bread with I think pineapples in it. The juice was SO good...they called it Polynesian juice and I asked you could purchase it take home, they said no. I believe it was a mixture of orange, passion fruit and guava? Yummy! We loved it. The characters were awesome! They had Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. I loved how they came around one at time, spaced out nicely, so we could get pictures and autographs. They were hilarious...Stitch tried to eat our food and Lilo kissed my husband (: My girls completely enjoyed it and still talk about it. The food was really very good and we were delighted with the whole experience. The kids even marched in a parade shaking maraccas. Too cute! HTH! :goodvibes

It's the only ts that we eat at every single time we go to Disney. We love to compare our photo froms from the last trip. The food is also very good with great character interaction. My ds9 loves Lilo and Stitch and his face is just pricless everytime we go

Oh, I am so glad to read this! Lilo & Stitch (and Myrtle...believe it or not) are my 5 year old daughter's absolute favorite characters. She has all three movies and wears her grass skirt as she dances around the room to that Hawaiian Roller Coaster song. She will be so excited to see Lilo & Stitch!

Just one more question...do they do pictures out front with the characters too (in the lobby area before you go in)? Sometimes at Chef Mickey I know they have a few of the characters (especially Goofy) standing at the entrance taking some photos. Just wondering...:)

Yes, they do pictures right before you go in the restaurant. During the meal, they come around and show you to see if you want to purchase them. Ours came out cute so of course I had to buy them! Oh that is too funny about the Hawaiian Roller Coaster song, my girls LOVE it and it played many times while ate breakfast! You should let your daughter wear her grass skirt to breakfast :goodvibes

I can't believe that they actually play that song! I wonder if they do it every morning, or if they switch it up from time to time. I hope they play it for us. She is going to have the best..breakfast..ever.

Oh, I wish they had a hula smilie to add to my post...:woohoo:

pineapple bread!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :cloud9: :yay: Loved it so much, we told the waitress forget the waffles! She brought us more...and the recipe :)

I don't remember the seeing the characters at all before we were seated at our table. They each made their way around the room and we got pictures with each character, nothing was rushed. We loved the Polynesian resort, it was beautiful. If you can get a seat by the window it was a nice view. I loved breakfast being family style and it was very good. Fruit was especially nice to have. I almost wish my dd's had begged for this one again, but our upcoming trip they wanted to try some new experiences. You'll love this one!! And I've read sometimes Stitch can get quite silly, he was pretty tame for us.:goodvibes

Yes, we are definitely looking for some quality shenanigans with Stitch! I just find it so funny that with all of the princesses etc., that she is most excited for Stitch. :lovestruc

While the food was very good - and we had plenty, we were seated for an hour and a half before Stitch got to our table. It was a very bad experience. Everytime we thought he was getting closer, more people would sit down and he'd go to their tables. The characters also took very frequent breaks where we'd see them going into the back of the restaurant. Our waiter was very rushed, we were actually done eating in about a 1/2 hour, but sat for an hour longer waiting for the characters. They didn't seem to be moving around very quickly. It was, however, very crowded. The manager was very rude and wasn't very helpful. I felt very bad for our waiter who at one point apologized to us and said "Feel sorry for me, I have to work with her every day". I did send an email to Disney when they got home and did get a reply back from them that they would be addressing the problem.

Sounds like the manager wasn't feeling the spirit of Ohana on that particular day.

This is my hubby's favortie rest at Disney! My kids love it too! Especially the dance with the characters! It's so much fun....the kids get (moraccas?) and shake them as they form a line and go all throughout the restaurant. I have some great pics but I'm not allowed to post yet! You wont be sorry if you go. The food is amazing and it's so much fun!!!!
