In Case of Emergency

Anyone have ideas on what to tell our loved ones at home on contacting us in case of an emergency? I don't expect one but always like to leave contact numbers.

Do cell phones work?
Is there a ship number they can call?
Is there a ship e-mail address they can use?

Thanks for any help you can give.

The telephone number for both the Magic and Wonder are the same, 1-888-322-8732. Tell anyone who has to call you, to have a credit card ready, it costs $6.95 per minute to make a shore to ship call. Also, they will connect the call directly to your stateroom, so unless you're in the room, you'll miss the call. They won't page you when you have a call. Cell phones will only work when you are in a port where your cell phone has service. There is no cell service at sea, Cozumel, St. Martin, or Castaway Cay. We did receive a signal in Grand Cayman, St. Thomas, and Nassau, but I only know that St. Thomas doesn't charge me international roaming rates. So, I didn't use it at the other two ports. There is no e-mail for them to directly e-mail you on the ship, though they can e-mail you if you can check your e-mail remotely. There is a fee to use the ships computers to check your e-mails.

A ship contact number will be provided in your cruise documents. The going rate for ship to shore calls and vice versa (you can call and receive call directly in your cabin) is $6.95 a minute or thereabouts.

There is also internet access onboard if you wanted to keep in touch that way.

I assume there is a message service however if someone is willing to pay $6.95 they can at least leave a message with your room and the little light on my phone will blink????

Yes, all staterooms have voicemail.
