Does anyone know how much it would cost to call a UK landline from my UK mobile in the US?

I know it will vary from network to network but does anyone have a rough idea?

Or would my network automatically pick up a US network when I arrive? If it does I guess my question would be how much does it cost to call a UK landline from a US mobile? Lol

02 charge 90p/min for pay monthly customers or 99p for pay as you go customers, if thats any help

You're welcome Your phone should pick up a US network when you arrive but you will be charged O2 roaming rates, that's what happens for me whenever I go home to Dublin anyway.

That's great I was actually expecting it to be a lot more. I've heard a lot of horror stories about people coming home to huge phone bills, how much must they use their phones?! Lol

They're probably been silly and used data while they have been away. If you have a smart phone make sure you disable 3g and mobile data or you probably will get a massive bill lol

Before you leave ring them and make sure the international call bar has been lifted. Not been with O2 for years (can't get a reception round here) but last time I used them it had to be removed, infact its that many years ago I think I had to pay a £200 deposit to allow international calls Worth checking though, you don't want to get there and find you can't use it.

on Vodaphone its about £1 a minute to UK and £1.30 from UK to you. Data is the killer, £5 daily charge then about that again each MB after that. I got caught once or twice, not thinking that photo messages were data (D'oh)

Taking the sim out next time. If an emergency crops up, anyone who needs to know will have the resort number.
