How far is the closest in and out burger from the Desert Inn ?? I`m from Canada and we don`t have it here.

The nearest In N Out Burger to your hotel is 3.7 miles away. The Address is 601 S BROOKHURST ST
ANAHEIM, CA 92804

:) We always stop there on the way from the airport to our hotel and then eat in our room.

I want to say that it is a couple of miles away - it's straight down Harbor though.

We went there - it's great. The inside is quite small though..maybe 10 tables at best. They are best known for the simple menu and the "In N Out" part of it. :)

disney2 ... we are also going to try and get to In-n-Out while staying at the Desert Inn .... without a car. Someone had given me these instructions regarding the bus that leaves from near the hotel, and stops by/at In-n-Out (which is near the corner of Harbor and Orangethorpe). The Desert Inn is on Harbor Blvd.

"And while not an Outlet Mall, there is another place I like to go discount shopping, and that is at the corner of Harbor and Orangethorpe in Fullerton, about 3 miles north of Disneyland up Harbor Blvd. This area has a lot of discount stores, including a Disney Parks Outlet Store (Character Warehouse), a new Sketchers Outlet, Dollar Stores and more. Plus a Super Walmart, a Target, a Sprouts Farmer Market (Healthy Groceries) and much more. Easy drive, or you can take the Public bus. OCTA Route 43 goes up and down Harbor Blvd about every 15 minutes, and the trip is just about 20 minutes in length. Some folks take the bus up ($1.50 per adult each way), and then opt for a taxi on the way back, since they bought so much stuff. (About $15 plus tip, depending on your Hotel/Motel)"

If you insist on going, be prepared for a "meh" experience at best. The burgers are overly salty, and the fries are so awful as to be nearly inedible (you have to age fries for proper taste/texture, and they do not).

Well someone is grumpy and got up on the wrong side of the bed.

These is a reason In-N-Out Burger consistently wins best burger in taste tests.

Their fries are great as well. I prefer fresh vegetables as opposed to "aged" ones. You can age my Cabernets and and even my prime beef, but keep the veggies fresh.

Love In n Out! DH, who is a total foodie, also loves In n Out and he's difficult to impress. Well worth the trip OP. :thumbsup2

Yes, Americans have the palates of two year-olds.

I am not sure why you keep posting on the Dis - all of your posts are so negative :confused3 Most of them slamming Americans and our ways/tastes etc.

That's a good plan. That particular In-N-Out isn't the closest, but it's the easiest to find - straight up Harbor Blvd (north from DL) - and the bus stop at Harbor and Orangethorpe is steps away from the store. The other places you mentioned are spread out in the vicinity. Map here: http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.8600815&lon=-117.9242527&z=17&l=0&m=b

BTW, if salt is a concern you can request your burger and fries have no salt. I do that for the fries well done I get...which I love.

The only time we left Disney property during our Halloween trip was to take a cab to In and Out. The cab driver gave us his card so we just called him up after we were done.
It was a great meal and well worth the trip

seattledeb ... could you tell me where you were staying, and the cost of the cab ride?
