We have a few friends and family that are going to be in Miami area in July.
Our thoughts were to all meet up on 2 separate days and do stuff. It’s the first time for all in Miami.

I googled Miami and found that south beach was a nice place to visit… if we all meet there via cars…
Is it easy to find public parking if we want to visit south beach for the day ?? Is there any free parking or
Is that too much to ask?? Where is the best place to park??

In addition, any other places we should not miss?

It might cost a little more, but me and my friend took the tri-rail to the metro-rail to the metro mover over to Bayside to have lunch at the hard rock cafe. We came from Broward county, so we felt safe with the car parked there. The transfers are realitivly cheap.

Almost anyplace along the beach is going to require you to pay to park. There's usually lots or garages just a block or two back. Some of those streets are so old and narrow that there is no room for street parking.

Ft lauderdale beach is nice too. It has its own little charm. Jackson's in broward, i think its in Dania Beach, is an awesome little burger/ice cream shop. Its alwys packed after sun down, so go early. Its kind of like beaches and cream at Disney's Beach Club.

Another area to check out is Key Biscayne.

Bill Baggs Cape State Park is there: http://www.floridastateparks.org/capeflorida/

Vizcaya is very close to Key Biscayne. http://www.vizcayamuseum.org

My mom used to live in Davie. Our favorite places to visit were Viscaya and Fairchild Tropical Gardens. We liked Hollywood Beach -- it has a little splash pad for the kids.
