I'm making my ADRs and I'm picking the same restaurants we go to every year:

1. Citricos
2. Flying Fish
3. Liberty Tree
4. Crystal Palace
5. Kona Kafe (breakfast)
6. 50's Prime Time

However, this year I'm adding...... (wait for it) ...... Le Cellier!

Any alternative suggestions to get me out of this lame rut? We love the above restaurants and I'm afraid to try something new. I like a feel of tradition, but I'm thinking we may be missing out by not being more adventurous.

Any thoughts??

Many of your favorites are ours as well. Have you tried Boma? This is a must do for us.

We are also in a dining rut and have been going to several of places you have listed. Right now we are staying away from Sci-Fi, Chef Mickey's, Flying Fish & Le Cellier since we have been so often. We still love California Grill and Jiko's so they will stay.

My most favorite meal last trip was at The Wilderness Lodge at Artist Point. I had the pork chop (totally unlike me) and I LOVED it!!!

We like Spoodles since it's right on the Boardwalk. We hope to try Yachtsman Steakhouse soon.

Our favorite meal was at the Brown Derby!

Here's our suggestions:

(So glad you are trying LeCellier!)

BOMA
JIKO
Yak & Yeti

Brown Derby

:cool2:

Boma, California Grill, Ohana (the last 2 try to get an ADR around fireworks time!), Spoodles...

You could try Kona for lunch or dinner, and try Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast.

ETA: Another vote for Jiko--it is probably our all-time favorite Disney restaurant!

We are trying Jiko for the first time in Nov, I have had many ppl recommend it to me...

I see you have Kona for breakfast for breakfast, have you ever tried their dinner? We tried it on a whim and were very impressed!

I would also say the GF Cafe is nice for a cool lunch. If you would like a sandwich...that is something we also tried on our last trip and enjoyed for a change.

We have been in a rut also and decided to try new restaurants when we went in May. The new ones we tried were:

Artist Point -- fine -- not great
Hoop De Doo Review -- fun time; good food but lots of it
The Plaza at MK -- wonderful for lunch - just loved it
Columbia House at MK - counter service - really good, cool and quiet
LC - at EPCOT -- so-so; honestly didn't see what all the fuss was about
Mexico - CS at EPCOT -- not good at all

We had our favorites which we would never miss:

Brown Derby -- always very nice
Jiko's -- wouldn't be a trip to Disney without Jiko's -- absolute favorite
Fish & Chips -- Epcot -- from the CS -- just great

Your right -- it's hard to figure out what to give up and what to add. Such problems. Have a magical day!

WDW Dining ruts are mental. I have a philosophy when it comes to eating at 'Da World.

I try to dine at at least one restaurant that I've never dined at before. And some trips I try to dine at none of the restaurants that I've dined before. It's adventurous, I know, but it can be fun.

Now I'm Southern (actually Midwestern, but been in the South for almost 20 years- so I'm Southern, right?) and I just can't stand going to those "Down-home Cooking" restaurants. I just think that I'm paying for food that I can make at home for better and cheaper, that's all. But I'm going to that 50s Dine-In place next year- simply because I've never been there.

And one year, I'm just going to "Eat the World Showcase." Just every evening, go to a different restaurant with different cuisine.

This vacation I'm planning to dine at all new places. I've been going to Disney for years, and hardly ever went to table service meals. It's like a whole new experience!

I have been trying to make it evey other meal we try someplace new. It's worked really well because we have old favorites to look forward to and have found some new places we really like.

I do want to put in my vote for Jiko it's awesome!

BOMA. :lovestruc We have done dinner & it was fabulous...trying it for breakfast and I hear fabulous things!
Sci-Fi @ MGM for lunch..burger, onion rings & milk shakes. :lovestruc
Whispering Canyon was a really fun and yummy dinner. Just a boatride away from the Magic Kingdom.
Coral Reef - Wonderful atmosphere & we all very much enjoyed our lunch here. It is one of the few places we will be repeating this year.
1900 Park Fare @ Grand Floridian...we did the dinner buffet and loved the food. The Strawberry Soup & Pasta station were sooo good.;)
I would also try a new country @ Epcot...Morocco, Japan, Italy, Germany, Mexico...something new..anything new! I think every place is worth trying once for your family.

We do a few "favorites" but I add at least three new ones per trip.

For you, I'd:

Switch Citricos for NARCOOSSEE'S (still at GF)

Switch Flying Fish for BLUEZOO (dolphin)

We were in the same rut, always at 50's Prime Time when at HS. Twice now we have gone to Mama Melrose's instead of 50's and have been very pleased both times. We'll be going again in August! We're also going to try Chefs de France instead of Biergarten (which we still like, but we're branching out!). I'm trying to convince DD to try WCC at WL instead of CP lunch on MK day but not having too much luck...she's almost 15 and still loves Pooh and the guys!

Thanks for all the feedback! Looks like I'm being booted out of my rut like it or not. I can't get ressies at several of my choices!! :scared1: LC is out and LTT is book SOLID on all the available days I had!! :scared1: I'm unable to vision a trip to MK w/out LTT :guilty: They laughed when I tried to book Chef Mickey's! This was a rather impulsive trip and I'm just shy of the 60-day mark. So, now I'm scrambling. I'm pulling up menus on y'alls suggestions as we speak!

That's how it starts: We always had the tradition of going to Chef Mickeys for dinner our first night at WDW. And we couldn't get the ADR. And we couldn't get the ADR for the entire trip! My DW almost cried.

Well, that made us go and get the ADR for a place we never dined at called "Whispering Canyon Cafe." OUr ADR was for 5:20, so we were there when they literally rang the dinner bell and yelled "Come and Get It!" Ah, we knew we were in for something special!

Now we can go to WDW and not even venture into Chef Mickeys. WCC was great and a lot of fun! Plus, Sci-Fi, another restaurant that we've never dined in until April, was a lot of fun too. The food was just OK, but those "previews" of those old movies was a delight- especially for a family whose special ability is to poke fun at almost anyone and anything. Man, those movies were lay-ups.

So, NEXT April, we're eating at 50's Prime Time, Crystal Palace, Tutto Italia, Tusker House, and Ohana's. These are all places that we've never been to, and we look forward to the adventure. (We've been to Tusker House, but not since they've changed it to a buffet.)
