still use your blinker?

Just something I was wondering about while I was running errands yesterday.

No, I'll use my blinker to get into the lane, but once I'm there, it almost always goes off.

Yes - turn-only lanes mean nothing here. I do it so that the fool behind me who intends to go straight will hopefully slow down and not plow into me ( :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: ) ( :sad2: )

Yup - habit. Sometimes I signal a turn into the driveway! Can't help it.

yep, same here, I use my blinker when I'm leaving my driveway too! You never know when an idiot driver is going to come along.

Yep... while in driver's ed, I got fussed at when I didn't have it on in a turn lane. I assumed it was the legal thing to do so I always do.

Yes, I want everyone that can see me to know where I'm going

I am not picturing that . Which way do you signal towards? The way you are going to eventually go, or the way you are backing out?

:rotfl2: I *always* signal to turn into my driveway....we live on a residental street but everyone thinks it's the Indy 500 or something as a cut-through between 2 bigger streets and have been known to barrel it down the street.

I always use the signal so hopefully the person barreling up behind me slows down or they don't quite ride my bumper so close since they are antsy I was actually slowed down to at least the speed limit & probably a little slower.

Most on the time I will signal in the turn lane too, occassionally I won't but not very often.

Yes, even though I am usually the only one. It seems like most people in Florida are afraid of their blinkers, for ANY reason.

I use my turn signal at all times and it really annoys me when other people don't. I figure it helps people know where I intend to go...better safe than sorry.

Same here, and depending on how sharp a turn into the lane it is my van has that annoying ding that tells me I made the turn now turn it off.

Didn't you know in order to save money they didn't buy that option. :rolleyes1 :duck:

I always do, simply out of habit. DH didn't until he actually got PULLED OVER on a very quiet New Years Day morning after we'd stopped for coffee at Starbucks. Hardly any traffic, but a cop pulled DH over, and said it was because he hadn't had his turn signal on, and it was the law. We were completely stunned!

They are turn indicators, they indicate what your intentions are, you should turn them on BEFORE you turn not while you are turning!!! You can actually be ticketed for not turning on your blinker soon enough (at least in MN that is the law). I use them before I enter a turn lane because I am moving from one lane to another and keep it on because I am still intending to turn.
