I am thinking I would like to try to go a little cheaper on our next trip in June 08. Currently we are booked at the Contemporary, Tower, MK View $$$$$, I thought if I could save some cash and maybe go moderate or I was also looking at the Beach Club which would be a little cheaper (anyone like this resort). I just don't know what to do, I have stayed at Value and Deluxe never Moderate. Any thoughts about which moderates may be better over another? I don't want to stay outside the park. Sorry so many questions and I know I have to check the availability.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated :)

There are fabulous moderates! I especially love POR & POFQ! The location is fantastic! They are beautiful and themed and all that's lacking compared to CR is the MK view. OK, the rooms at CR are definately more posh, and customer service is a notch up; however I don't think you would be dissappointed in a moderate, especially for the price difference. Check them out on the all ears web site: www.allears.net

Most importantly, have a magical vacation!

Some folks really like and prefer the moderates. I personally would rather stay deluxe or value. I don't like the multiple internal bus stops that the moderates have, I find it takes longer to get to and from the parks.

Have you considered a stay in the Garden Wing of the Contemporary? It should be less expensive than the Beach Club.

Thats a thought, I want to get all my ducks in a row before I call reservations to get a few quotes on mod or maybe garden wing? Thanks for the idea.

Ive never stayed at a Deluxe, but both CSR and CBR were beautiful and very relaxing....I would say both were great values for the price of the room.

checking out prices for the Wilderness Lodge? Had a great woods view room last year, so you don't have to book top notch there either. Have you checking into renting points on the DVC board? I was able to get an AKV studio reservation for $140/night, while the AAA rate for POR was $170!! Lots of GREAT options in my opinion for not shelling out the $$$$ for deluxe if you really don't want to.:)

I agree with the above poster. I would check WL and AKL. They are cheaper than the other deluxes. :)

Im staying at WL in June 08 myself. got a woods view at a very reasonable rate.

Had reservation for CSR and changed to WL after careful consideration. If i picked a mod it would be CSR!!!! Deluxe has queen size beds and mods have full's!!!! family of 4 would be a little snug in 2 full size beds.....

For a cheaper deluxe I would say go with the WL if you want to be close to the MK. For a moderate I'd choose CSR. :thumbsup2

If you rent points for DVC can you still do the meal plan? I am going to call and get a rate for WL. Thank You

Yes you can but the person you rent from is the one who would have to make these arrangements for you; you cannot talk directly to DVC unless you are a member.

I will second the Wing Room at CR. We loved it when we stayed there.

BC is wonderful!!! There is nothing that I didn't like about the BC!!! It was totally awesome!! I've stayed at all levels and love them all in different ways. BC was elegant, a lot of fun, was close to Epcot and DHS, and had a lot of activities close by.

I've stayed at CS, which was fun but really big! It was amazing. POFQ was nice, but a little small.

I love POP because it is so overly exaggerated and lots there to see, so we've stayed there a lot (since I'm the one that makes the ressies:thumbsup2). I just went to AS Music about 12 days ago and we had a ball!! It had the same fun feel as POP and was totally interesting to DD and DS.

Basically, they are all different, but all fun in thier own way. I've never been to one I didn't like!!

We have stayed at CBR, CSR, and are staying POFQ for the first time this March. Between CBR and CSR, we liked CSR much better, by far! The resort is GORGEOUS, not as spread out as CBR, and much less crowded. We will definitely stay at CSR again... CBR, probably not.

As far as POFQ, we are staying here this time because it has come very highly recommended. I have never heard a bad thing about it so we're going to give it a shot! It looks beautiful so we have high expectations!

In June, I'd consider the pool, and the BC is the best! I can't wait to go back!

I have stayed at YC (similar to BC) and at CSR. Personally I would go with a cheaper deluxe than a moderate. Yes, the grounds and pool at CSR are lovely, but our room was just average. I missed the posh feel of the deluxe room.

I agree,
I know the moderates are nice, but like I said since we don't go on vacation every year I was just afraid to take the step down to a moderate. So far I have decided to keep our MK view in the tower at the Contemporary for the extra space in the room since there are 4 of us. I made all our dinner reservations last night and the trip is now seeming real to me. When it is a year off you occasionally think about it, now it is only 169 days out and I was just panicing a bit. I did call the WL but they had no availability for the time we are going.

I booked a segway tour has anyone done it? and was it fun?
Thanks for all the replies :)

I would suggest WL or POR. At WL you are still clase to the MK and the buses are really great. We were ther in August and it was crowded but we never waited very long. POR is my favorite moderate.

Love the BC. Also love the WL, if you feel the need to be close to the MK.

As for moderates, my favorite is Coronado Springs, with POR in 2nd place.
