Hi all. I was on the phone with disney dining today and they were cautioning me against early breakfasts due to lack of transportation.

I am in a panic because I have an 8:10 a.m. breakfast reservation for 13 people June 20 at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. I made this ressie a long time ago and received no warning then. He said that transportation will not be available to Animal Kingdom until 8:00 a.m. I thought bus service to the parks started at 7:00 a.m.

Can someone help? Thanks, Lynn

Is that an EMH morning for AK? I thought the buses start running 1 hour prior to park opening.

For something that early I might consider taking a cab to get their quicker instead getting to the bust stop early to wait. (I'm not an early a.m. person, so the later I can leave the better.)

it is not EMH for AK that morning. the next day is though (the 21st). Maybe switch it?

You should not have any problems. Last year we ate breakfast at Donald's Restaurantosaurus at AK. Our reservation was at 8:00 am. We got a bus from our resort and arrived at the park between 7:30-7:40. The day we went was NOT an extra magic hours day, so the park opened at 9:00 am & we had no problems getting there for our ADR.

Don't panic! Uninformed CMs tell people this frequently. What resort are you staying at? Most have character breakfast busses running early. Check with your resort for times and be sure to be at the bus stop a little earlier as busses will not run as frequently that early. In other words, if the character breakfast bus comes to your resort at 7:15 and you arrive at the bus stop at 7:20 you may be waiting 30-45 minutes for the next bus, which could make you late for your ADR.

yeah that. I'd recommend being at the bus stop at 7 and you'll have no problems. (I think we never actually made it out there until 7:15 and still made it to all our 8:00 ADRs.)

It's interesting the things people are told by CMs. Someone who got back a few weeks ago was told that if they set a plate in front of their 8-month-old at buffet restaurants or asked for an extra plate at regular restaurants that they'd be charged for it, so they had their daughter eat off napkins the whole time. :headache:

I would talk with the CMs at the bell services/transportation desk when you arrive and I wouldn't worry in the meantime. Find out what time buses are really running, etc.

One word of caution about taking an a.m. cab to AK, though -- it used to be that no cars or taxis could get through the AK gates and to the park until 8. This meant that you *could* (as happened to us) end up in a taxi with the meter running for 10+ minutes because the tollbooth-type gate to the park hadn't opened (and we sat watching the Disney buses just zip right through!). Again, if you're thinking about a taxi, talk it over with bell services and if necessary get in the cab at 8 and don't worry about being a few minutes late for your ADR.

Thanks everyone for being so helpful! I love these boards!

We are staying at Old Key West. I have on our "itinerary" that we must be to the bus stop by 7:15 a.m. that morning.

I would be so ticked sitting in that cab! I really want to avoid a cab and I don't want to cancel the ressie as it is our only character meal, it is late in the game to make ressies for 13 people and I am hoping to beat the crowds and heat with a breakfast before the park opens. Lynn

I just made an 8:20 am ARD at Tusker House and an 8:35 AM ADR at Akershus so this thread got me worried! This is for November so I don't know what the deal is with the hours yet.:scared:

We will be staying at the Poly so we can take the monorail to Epcot (when do they start running?).

How do you get to AK from the Poly?

Should I just ask at the front desk the night before what time I should be ready to catch transportation?

We used bus service and monorail service for very early breakfast reservations- one at AK and one at MK a couple of months ago. I was a little concerned about the one at AK, since we were coming all the way from the Grand Floridian. I stopped by the desk the night before and they told me to be at the bus stop by a certain time (can't remember exactly) but we got there- waited maybe 5-10 minutes- hopped on the bus, and headed to AK. No problems at all. Even if you get to AK park a little too early for the reservation- the restaurant is in the back of the park and there are always fun things to see. I love early breakfasts at the park- we have a 2 year old in the group who likes to eat at 8, so the sooner the better! I think you should have no problems at all!

Thanks Suedaisy. I think they would have to offer transportation for early meals. Especially if cabs can't get through the booths. I am going to call OKW. Thanks, Lynn

We stayed at WL this past Jan and we had a 8:30 am res at Tusker House. We were able to get an early bus at our resort. We just checked with guest services the night before and they let us know when the buses start picking people up.
