Okay, we were just there in September and it was the most magical trip I've ever had (probably owing to my 4 year old DD and my twin 4 year old nieces). We have been planning another trip for later this year (either fall or Christmas) but I feel like I really have to go MUCH sooner. Every night I go online and check rates, and of course Disney is sending me tempting e-mails with discount offers. And DD (now 5) keeps saying "I miss Disney". Well, me too kid!

I just got a raise and another week's paid vacation...I figure if we go the last week of January for a full three days, crowds will be fairly light, I'm getting paid time off, and it will tide me over until the "big" trip. My extended family thinks I'm crazy, but I want to go back while the magic is still there for DD (I realize we grow out of and then back into the magic, but I really want to see that look on her face again when she walks into Magic Kingdom).

Anyone else ever go on impulse?

Thanks!

Yes, Yes Yes!! I planned an impulse trip last March in less than 10 days to celebrate a milestone birthday(mine) all because I got an e-mail from travelocity with great prices on flights!

I say go for it! Your daughter will only be this age once...but you will have years ahead of you to look back at all the happy memories you will make now!!:goodvibes

Count me in too! DH and I went in September and have another trip planned for next December. Whoa... that's way too long between trips! I leave in 2 days for a four day trip! I'm soooo excited!!!!

My vote... go for it! :cheer2:

GO!!!!

Sometimes impulse trips are the best and you can get great deals...

In July of 2005 I was at a conference in San Diego with some teachers from my district one of whom is a huge Disney person like me. So a little less than two weeks before we were suppose to go to this conference she and I chatted and convinced ourselves (yeah, so hard) that we had to go to DL. Well come to find out that the two days we scheduled ourselves to be there were during the actual 50th anniversary of the park opening! We were disappointed, thinking there was no way we could afford a last-minute trip during such an important weekend. Boy, were we wrong! We got to stay at GC for half price if you can believe it! So not only were we in DL, we were there for the 50th, AND got to stay at one of the most fabulous of all Disney resorts. The craziest part about the whole trip was that even with the huge crowds, the longest we waited for any ride was 20 minutes!

Yes, that is my favorite of all my Disney experiences - I hope you didn't find it too boring. But my point is this...

YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THE MAGIC WILL FIND YOU!:smickey:

I'd do it! Have fun!

My family was just there in Dec. My DH and I said we didn't have enough lazy
time so we're going again TOMORROW. We decided last week and he used his
FF miles for airfare, I rented a DVC members points for a studio and we're leaving
tomorrow for some relaxing time at OKW. It ends up being about $70/night
renting these last minute points. The trip is costing a little over $300. Can you
imagine? It's the spur of the moment stuff that ends up being the best. You
don't "think it to death". Spontaneity! Don't you just love it? :thumbsup2

We are doing an impulse trip at the end of January too. We are not even getting a great deal, but just didn't get enough on our trip back in January. My almost 3 year old absolutely adores all things disney now and it just seems perfect for him (and me.) We are throwing caution to the wind and decided to go.

I say GO!!! We went on a trip in September 2005 and decided that we would wait a year and go again in 2007...well out of NOWHERE, DB calls me and says "wanna go to see the Christmas Decorations?" And off we went! We only stayed a few days 12/14-12/18 but it was perfect! Was it the best idea financially, of course not! BUT we had a blast and I'd do it again in a second!
We are still going this September too! WOO HOO

Woo Hoo! Lots of people who say "GO!" Be encouraged, I say "do it!"

We went in 12/05, & again in 5/06 (DH lost his job 2 wks before, but trip was already planned). We used the Disney Visa which allows 6 months 0 interest.

The crazy thing is because of that whole "magic" feeling (and our DD 4 & DS 2being Disneyaholics already), we're going back on 1/17/07! We decided that a week ago and we're really not paying any extra for our impulse (it is value season tho).

The SUPER crazy thing about this Disney magic addiction is that DH has been out of work for 9 months --and we're still going!!!! No, we aren't getting ourselves in debt for those of you who are wondering (thank you Disney Visa).
We just decided since we do have other income and we really haven't any other debt to "go for it" knowing that once DH does find a job, he'll probably not be able to get time off for awhile. Plus, DS doesn't turn 3 until the end of April so he's still a freebie --in the parks anyway!

OK, so does that make you feel better about your impulse?

We did an impulse trip right before my son's third bday in June. It was the time of our lives. I almost cry just thinking of it. Seeing the MAGIC in his eyes.
I would love to post the pics of the first time he saw Mickey, but I am VERY computer challenged!!
I say go for it.
Our next big trip is not until 2009, but I can honestly say I don't think I will be able to hold out!!! We'll have to wait and see what kind of special last minute offers come up.

I do apologize for bumping but I haven't been on this board in a month and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied! It's good to know I'm not alone in that "I need to go" feeling!

Thank you all for sharing...now I'm just waiting until we get our tax rebates on Friday ( I love e-filing!!) and then it's time to go!

Thanks again!
