Scammers are back. :sad2: The current scam involves PM's and IM's with the scammer claiming someone in their family is or use to be staff. They claim that if you give them your account log in info, they can put things from inferno to green flips into your account for you.
THIS IS FALSE!! Do not give your account information to anyone! True VMK staff do not need this to add items and anyone claiming to be able to do this is scamming.

Please read the post below that was made some time ago. A quick refresher never hurts!

Be Careful!
Lori

Unfortunately, it seems the scammers just don’t want to go away. They will most likely never stop trying to come up with ways to get valuable game items. So what can you do to help protect yourself?

My first suggestion would be to NEVER agree to trade for codes for items that can be traded in the game. The items tradable only by code are rooms, VIP badge, and diver suits. Code trades are always risky. Personally, I would only trade codes with someone I knew well, either from the game or the boards and still keep in mind the risk I am willing to take that the code will work. The scam of the day seems to be trading Stitch hat codes. DO NOT fall for this trick. If someone wants to trade these, they can meet you in the game and trade the item itself. Don’t let their excuses of why they can’t influence you. There are no codes for inferno or green flips, don’t let them convince you there are.

Another popular scam is telling you that someone can access your account and put items in if you will give them your sign-in information. FALSE!! Official VMK staff can access your account, but they do not need any of your information to do so. NEVER give anyone your account information, it’s a sure way to lose everything you have.

If someone contacts you about trading on IM or through a PM that you have never heard of, stop and think very carefully. Once again, say no to codes, ask who they are on VMK. If by IM, how did they find your IM name and if from the DIS boards, what their name is here. If by PM check out their posts and see if they just signed up or are well known on the boards. Talk with your friends to see if it would be a good, fair, and safe trade. Never be in such a hurry that you end up making a very costly mistake.

Remember to report any scam attempt you receive by PM to a Moderator or Webmaster. If you are scammed in the game, report it directly to VMK going to www.vmk.com and using the ‘contact us’ link.

The scammers will only be stopped if we refuse to play their games and fall for their tricks.

Glad to see that this was finally passed on.

Then why do you go to them? If you and everyone else who KNOWS that
this is a "too good to be true" guest room, the players who make these rooms
wouldn't have anyone to frustrate.

Do yourself a favor and just avoid going to any guest rooms that say
anything too good to be true, like "free stuff, leaving VMK" and the
"free magic" rooms you've described.

Sadly, people WANT to believe these rooms are true and they waste their
time going to them.

You can't post title's here at all but you can post the screen shot if you white out her name. To do that open paint and edit it their. If it has no names of anyone except you your fine.

to upload a picture

1.first look at the top of your page.
2.Right below an ad.It will say Home theme Parks resorts Dining etc. Click on Photo's Video.
3.Once the page loads go to the very bottom. It will say Add your own disney photos here.
4.Then once that page loads click login and enter your username and password.
5.Another page will now upload. Right above where it says Recent Photos look to the right, it will say upload pictures click that
6. Then fill out the info. Then click upload submit( it will take a minute to load)
7. It will then ask you more info like title of photo description. once you fill that out click process items (again it will take a minute to load)
8. Then click the button to return to main.
9. Go back to your thread and create a new post. Add your picture their

OR

1. Upload your picture to photo bucket .com
2. Once you upload it scroll down to the bottom of the page.
3. Their will be three lines of codes.
4. take the third line
5. Copy and paste that line into a post and their you go!

I know,,,, then they get annoyed when they don't get magic.

hey now, I had a room titled "Free Pirate Organs" and I had about 15-20 to give away, and I legitametly gave everyone who came into the room a free pirate organ. or skeleteon monkey lamp, or poster. or all of the above.

the pirate organ sound gets annoying really fast. especially a room full. :lmao:

so it's not always a scam. some people really do what to give away things. just be careful. if there is a line of people complaining, then you know it's no good. but if you come in to people saying "ty" or "ty so much" then, more than likely, it's okay.

Yes some aren't scams, but all the ones I enter are scams. The bold will help me, thanks.
