Important info for under 18s buying an AP without parents there!

on my trip to the AP office last week me and dbf discovered that we couldn't buy my 17 year old brother an AP because he needed a permission letter from one of my parents and a photocopy of their ID. This meant he missed out on EMH (we were staying in the holiday inn) and had to spend an extra 30 euros more than an AP would have cost coz we had to get a 5 day hopper.

Any under 18s getting an AP without your parents there...bring letter and photocopied ID!!!!

How strange, I took my sister in 2006 when she was 17 and they let us buy her one. They must have changed the rules. I can understand why they'd do it for kids but anyone over 16 should be treated as an adult.

It does seem to be hit and miss at the AP Bureau I think it depends a lot on who serves you.

Thanks for the heads up on this, we are taking a friends daughter and plan to get her an AP so I'll get her parents to do an authorisation letter for me and get a copy of their passport.
