Important Info For Europeans Before You Book A Disney Cruise

I just came across this information and thought Europeans on DIS who may be planning to book a cruise should know. It just gives you even more of a reason to use Dreams Unlimited to book your cruise

If you book a Disney cruise and pay the deposit and balance in Pounds Sterling £ or Euro € either direct through Disney or through a European travel agent, you can ONLY book stateroom celebrations, merchandise, floral arrangements, chocolate, wine, or food and beverages to be placed in your room on arrival by PHONING Disney Cruise Line Contact Center. You can not book and pay for these online trough the App or website.

The same restriction also applies to pre paying onboard credit, food and wine, spa and pre purchase merchandise and beverages.

They only accept Visa or Mastercard and a foreign transaction fee may be applied

If you paid the deposit and balance for your cruise in Pounds Sterling £ or Euro € either direct through Disney or through a European travel agent, you need to PHONE

What if they use Dreams Unlimited???

Europeans who use Dreams Unlimited do not have these restrictions. I know this because I booked with Dreams Unlimited and I can access the online booking for items to be placed in my room on arrival such as cakes, flowers, wine etc.

The issue came up "on the dark side" when someone asked when the booking opened as they could not access the online booking page. They sent an email to Disney Cruise Line and this is the info that was sent back.

I thought those items could only be ordered by phone or fax for everyone. I have never been able to do that online or through the app and I book with $. Am I doing something wrong?

There was a very recent change that allows purchases online or through the app. I believe the change took place at the beginning of July.

So this isn't true (the bit I've underlined). I phoned a UK freephone number and booked perfectly fine! Yes you have to ring but not the Florida number at all! They show the number to call when you try to login to view the onboard gifts. For the UK its 08001712317

For some people I'm sure having to phone to book onboard gifts is a big issue but when you book with any US travel agent you have US exchange fees to deal with and sometimes its just easier (and cheaper) not to bother. And its not just Dreams its if you book your cruise in $'s which you can do directly with Disney or with any US travel agent.
