IMPORTANT:COULD HAPPEN TO YOU:Wait List came through-Impact on MDE and Early Check-In

Did you really lose your dining as I thought dining. Was independent of resort reservations?

Thanks for posting this. I have an 8 night vacation coming up with the first night in a different room. I did the online check in for the first night only to get the magic band fun rolling, but I have changed that one night reservation a couple of times. Since MDE showed everything just fine, I thought there wasn't any issues; better verify now. Hopefully, it will just be the first day's Fastpass+ I lose - which is no biggie.

FYI - Online check in is not required to get the magic band started. When I do online check in it's never been more than a day or two prior to the trip - thankfully!

What a glitch you got caught up in - sorry that happened to you WilsonFlyer!

So right now I have different log ins for DVC and MDE. So I should create a new MDE account so that the log ins are the same or will MDE allow me to change my log in online? Or do I call MS for this?

I had multiple accounts also, which was causing a few slight problems on MDE. I called Member Services. The rep I spoke with linked the 2 accounts, recommended I used 1 login for both and combined all my ADRs and Fastpass+. So far everything looks exactly as it should...

I would recommend making the call to MS

Yes, I had all of my Fastpass+ selections already done without doing online check in. BUT, it was never giving me the option to personalize my Magic Band and I desperately wanted a pink one with my name on it. :goodvibes Posters on this board said they were having that option become available by doing online check in. Sure enough, the second I did it I was able to customize my Magic Band and now I know the day it will be mailed out to me. Again, at that time that's what I had to do to get that option. Possibly, that has been remedied by IT now. :confused3

I just checked MDE and my DVC reservations, dining reservations, and FP+ are all listed on one page. All accounts are linked.

Does the OPs experience say that if I switched resorts, I'd lose it all, or were their accounts not linked in some way? Just looking for clarification.

He indicated that everything looked fine, nothing was missing from his MDE page. BUT, when he contacted MS he found out he had lost everything . . . even though the MDE website still showed his information correctly.

That is EXACTLY what happened to me. Yes. Once I dug past the first page, there was no "there" there.

For example, if I clicked on "Tuesday," and went to edit FP+, nothing was there once I got there, if that makes sense.

I'd imagine it was using the 180 day +10 which I'd imagine ties it to the room reservation.

All I can tell you is it works differently now than it did 6 months ago. My guess is because of MDE. The one from 6 months ago is gone. The one I did DURING my initial setup for SSR was unlinked but I was able to find it and link it again to my AKL reservation.

Take away: MDE changed dining reservations in SOME way.

Until this is remedied, there should be a pop-up box or message on the first online check-in page that warns people of this issue before those with a DVC reservation start online check-in. Our dues should not have to pay for MS to spend hours recovering dining reservations, FP+, etc. for DVC members when this is clearly a WDW IT problem. Having DVC MS spend all that time fixing a WDW-IT problem just makes other members wait longer to do the things that MS is really there to do. They should be able to send it to the WDW IT department who can fix it so MS can get on with the next member's needs.

Thanks for posting this information. Sorry you had to go through this mess. Fortunately, we rarely do WL's and when they come through, it is usually long before the 60 day mark. Think of the DVC members who are not on the DIS who will be affected by this glitch without knowing that this happens.:sad2:

I Tried to get her to release me to somebody else but she wouldn't. I felt bad that it took so long and was on our dime but she wouldn't let it go. To her credit, she wouldn't let it go.

Wow, thank you for sharing. I hope you are able to get back your reservations and that Disney learns of this huge glitch.

Now that they know this is a problem, they should be able to just pass it on to someone in the theme park IT division to fix it when a WL is fulfilled after online check-in has been done. in fact, if WL's are done manually, it seems like all of the info from the original reservation could be pulled over to the new reservation without involving the operators at MS.

No fault of your, obviously! But there have been a few threads commenting on the long waits for MS, and I suspect this Magic Band/FP+ stuff has something to do with it. I called about two weeks ago at 5ET on a Monday to transfer points from one contract to the other, and I was on hold for 17 minutes before I finally just hung up. In five years, I don't think I have ever waited more than 3-5 minutes for a CM.

So sorry for your hassles.THANK YOU for taking more time to share your experience!

If you got your personalized magic bands in the mail already, take them with you. In September we had a ton of trouble with them, including having them deactivated before the trip. Once we got there, we were able to get everything fixed on them at guest services. It will take some time to re-set them up, but you "should" be able to use them.

And.. I hate to say this.. but if you don't get the answer you want, try another guest services location. We found that every CM was giving different answers... which was beyond frustrating!!

No MBs yet. That's the thing. We don't know whether they shipped before all this happened or not. Only time will tell.

When they ship the MB there is usually a link to track the shipment in your MDE account page.

If you can't see any chances are they haven't shipped... :(

If you don't trust MDE site, sign up with UPS My choice (http://www.ups.com/mychoice/) to be notified of ANY shipment to your address. It's free and you'll know whether a shipment is coming.
It won't say from Disney though, ours says somewhere from TN.

I'm hesitant to say this, considering your trouble with the site, but when our MBs were shipped, there was a message on our MDE site with a tracking number. They came confirmation delivery.

Says they are being customized and will ship soon. It appears I can't change the colors anymore so we shall see.

At least everything appears to be there, at least as of right now.

I would watch for a box to be delivered withing the next 2-3 days. We received our bands a day or two after MDE posted that bands are being processed. I never received a shipping confirmation number or email stating bands have shipped they just appeared at my door

Sorry for the troubles you have had, but thank you for the head's up!

We are going at Christmas and have a waitlist that I am hoping still comes through. We just got invited to do the magic bands but I don't want anything to lost or potentially not get the waitlist sooooo I am thinking of just waiting until the beginning of Dec. to activitate magic bands etc... I have dining reservations already in place including Christmas day that I really don't want screwed up. SO going to try to be patient even though I can't wait to order the magic bands etc....
