Hello again everyone! Now was wondering of the need to make ressies for meals.I planned my trip very spur of the moment, leaving June 11th,staying at the WL. I really know nothing about dis,can I just get by without any reservations? Is it too late to even get any anywhere? I'm assuming that if you do make them you call the restaurant directly?!! Help !!! Nancy

If you want any table service meals, I would highly suggest making some ADR's before you leave! You can call 1-800-828-0228 and follow the prompts for dining. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

if there is a resturant speciffically you would like to go to then I would definately make ressie's if not it may be full. (places like lecellier)
I always make ressies b4 I go that way we do not have to wait in line, especially if you are on the dining plan you really do wanna make reservations.
hope that helped! :)

Nancy,

It's best to get reservations just to take some of the stress away. It's nice to be able to sit down to a meal rather than eat yet another round of chicken strips and fries at the counter services. You should be able to get reservations still. The phone number is 407-WDW-Dine. You tell them the date, number in your party, restaurant and time and they give you a confirmation number.

If you want some advice, go to http://www.touringplans.com/tp2/UG2_index.php?PageID=14 and find out which is the least busy park each day of your trip and get dinner reservations at those parks. That's what we do and then we usually *hop* over to the park with EMH just to enjoy those as well.

Have fun!

I went right at that time last year (also stayed in WL and loved it!), and that was the first time we were shut out of every single restaurant we tried to get into. So, this trip we made ADRs, even though it was a big fat pain. So I'd definitely look at the park schedules, look at the menus on www.allearsnet.com or the main site connected with the DIS boards, and make some plans and then call dining. Better to be safe than be relegated to chicken nuggets, burgers, and pizzas all trip. :wizard:

A few thoughts ...

1) You can't call each restaurant directly. WDW uses a central reservations system for dining. You can make one call and make all of your Advanced Dining Reservations for your entire trip.

2) Some people swear by ADRs and some don't. From my trip last May, I can tell you that if you don't want to wait 30 or 60 minutes or more for a table (on top of what people with reservations are already waiting), you're wise to make ADRs.

3) We were happy, by choice, with counter service meals, but if you won't be happy with that or with long waits, by all means make your ADRs ASAP.

Yes you should make ressies! Especially during the summer months. It is more likely that you will either not get into any WDW sit down Rest or have a REAL LONG (over 2 hour)wait for a seat!

Good Luck & have a Great time :wizard:

Yes def make adr's if there is anywhere you want to eat.... if not you may be shut out and only able to eat at counter service locations. It is easier to cancel if you cant make your adr than it is to try and get one last min. :thumbsup2

Call quickly if you plan on TS meals. I am going June 17-24th and I made a few changes to my ressies on Friday of last week. There were only a few times left so you may have a chance at getting some times. But if you want TS, definately call ahead.

I, also, highly recommend making ADRs. That way you don't waste precious time waiting in line and you get what you want. When we went two years ago we had ADRs at Le Cellier and it was still about 30 minutes after our time before we were seated. If you are interested in any character meals definitely make ADRs because they are very popular.

Please call and make ressies now, my Dh and I just decided to go down for 3 days June 16-19th and I called to make 2 ADR's and I was only able to choose from 2 times for the whole morning at CHef Mickeys and they were either early or really late. The CM told me that everything seems to be booking quickly now with the 180 out ressies possible. Also it is a great beneift to know that you will not be eating counter service for your whole trip(unless that is what you are planning on). Have a great trip.

To answer the question "can I get by without any reservations", yes you can get by without them by eating at the counter service places. I did not eat a sit down resturant meal until the last few years and now I love it (especially the character meals). However, if you don't want sit down meals, you don't need ressies.

If you do want sit down meals, make the ressies ASAP. Take care and have a great time.
