I recently read on another thread that the new Frozen attraction will open WS in March 2016. I know this will increase attendance in the area. I'm just wondering how big will the impact be. I plan on going in December 2016 and I'm curious on how the crowd levels will be by this time. Any thoughts?

There's no way to predict what a new ride's crowd levels will be several months after it opens during a usually busy time of year. Before its even built.

But based on the popularity of all things Frozen...It's probably going to be chaos and insanity for quite awhile.

It will definitely be Tier 1. Don't expect to get FP+ for TT or Soarin and Frozen!

My daughter is obsessed with Frozen and we will definitely hit this ride up several times during our 2016 Spring Break trip. I expect this to really help the crowd levels at other parks and the lines for Soarin and TT. no matter how bad the ride is, just being Frozen themed will drive people to it.

You'll have the better part of 2016 to figure this out, I'd wait to ask until the attraction opens.

I have my reasons for asking so early.

I agree that this ride will be a Tier 1, but I don't see that being an issue for me considering how I plan on touring the parks. I can't wait to hear the feedback when this ride opens considering how divided people were on the location.

For the record, you CAN make a prediction on a ride before it opens and during the building process. People were doing that with the Fantasyland expansion, especially with SDMT. As a matter of fact, I see it happen quite often with the ongoing discussions of rumored attractions coming to WDW. I stopped keeping track of the progress on the Frozen ride (tired of seeing the constant debates on the ride itself). Now knowing it's going to be open before my trip, this is something that I have to take into consideration.

Why?

This attraction is one of many new additions coming to WDW in 2016. Obviously, this means that there will be a crowd increase. For me this is one more detail to take into consideration from a planning perspective. Personally, I have my own predictions about the Frozen ride and the potential crowd levels. However, I wanted to hear other thoughts for some comparison. With that being said, I'm not looking for sarcastic comments on a question that will most likely begin to start popping up more and more as the months pass. There are simply people who like to start their planning early and gather as many details as soon as possible.

Sorry to hijack but does anyone l now what sort of ride it will be or if they are sticking to the log flume concept?

No one knows. I am hoping for a pretty big redo and not still a flume-type ride with Frozen added, but that's probably just a fool's hope.

I imagine that I will FP the Frozen ride for noon. I'll do Soarin at RD, head to TT and go single rider, do SE and MS with FP, fill out the rest of the morning with other FW things, then do my Frozen FP and head to lunch in WS.

not sure about the tier issue but since they are adding a third screen to soarin perhaps after that they could put soarin in the second tier since its capacity will increase by 50%

I'm not sure you are going to get anyone here 'predicting' anything other than a popular, crowded attraction requiring a FP to bypass a long stand by line. But what do I know...

I'm wondering if it means that World Showcase will open at 9am once the expansion is complete. And then I'm assuming I will avoid the entire pavilion like the freaking plague for many many years.

This is a good, and specific, question.

Will ALL of WS open?, just Norway?, will it stay 11:00?
Come on mesaboy, we need answers!

This is what I was thinking. I was even thinking it MIGHT allow them to remove tiers but probably not. But I think it's pretty likely they would move Soarin' to tier 2.

Why would they do that? When Malestrom was open, it was a tier 1 with TT& soarin, wasn't it? Will the extra theater at Soarin be done by the time Frozstrom is open?
