Immigration Help

Hi everyone. I was hoping you all may have some help for me. I have looked online everywhere for an answer to this and can't seem to locate it anywhere. DH(English) and I were married this past December over here in the States. He has been back home since Boxing Day (I MISS HIM ). I am sitting here waiting for the Federal Express guy to bring me my settlement visa and it should be here by 10 am today. My question is ok, I have permission to go and live there, but what do I need to do when I get there? Do I have to register anywhere? I already have 2 job offers...but will I just be able to start? What about healthcare? DH is clueless (but boy is he wonderful) and it just seems like there isnt any information online. I did find an organization that will be fairly local when I get there that I can probably go to for some advice but I hate just leaving here without some kind of idea.
Anyone on here ever hopped over the pond and stayed? Help...please????

As far as I can remember when we moved back here several years ago DH's (US citizen) passport was stamped when we came into the country saying that he was able to work here. I know that he was able to receive healthcare immediately because we signed up with a doctor. DH had no problems regarding employment, he started interviewing as soon as we moved here and got a job within a couple of weeks.

What is the offical name of the visa? My dh has unlimited leave to remain which is a settlement visa. It includes a work permit and he is allowed to use the health services but he cannot claim any benefits. Usually when you first come to the UK you start on a short term visa, once you have lived here for 2 years you have to show that you are still together and they will then issue you with unlimited leave to remain. You will have no worries regarding health care or working but it is unlikely that you will be able to claim any benefits. Hope this helps.

It is a settlement visa. I was shocked at how much of my life I had to send into them in an envelope but very nicely surprised when it was all approved within 2 days!!! The backlog here to come to the states is ridiculously long which is why I am going there first.I'm so very excited to start my new life. Thanks for your help.
