I was the first one up today, around 6 and I immediately hopped in the shower - I couldn't wait to use that big thing! LOL We'd ordered room service the night before, using the hang tag, and it was delivered on time. I got waffles & bacon .. I don't know why I insist on continually ordering, in all different hotels, waffles - when you get them from room service, they're almost always soggy! Dave had just eggs & bacon, and the boys got continental breakfasts. Something I meant to comment on in the first reports - BOY has the coffee gotten WEAK at the hotels!! LOL VERY! I like really strong coffee, but what I had in the Grand & AKL (except out of the cool machine in the concierge lounge!) was barely strong enough to be tea for me!!

Anyway, enough complaining! LOL

We got a real show from the animals this morning - LOADS of them, all as if they were parading by just for our benefit! Evan & I enjoyed this the most - the animals I mean. Alec was so so excited about it, and once Dave saw them one time, that was enough for him. WhatEVER!! LOL I still think it is just so cool!!
What was neat was that off Evan's balcony, there was a watering hole .. so they'd go there first to drink, then make their way around to my view!

After everyone was ready, we needed to stop up at the concierge floor to take care of a few things. One was a long distance call on the phone that we didn't make, for about $40 or so! I also needed to pick up our Cirque tickets for this evening, and make sure they had everything set for tomorrow for Evan's birthday.
Robert was the CM on duty that morning, and ... while he was nice enough, I wouldn't call him terribly efficient or "with it". And I got the feeling that he sort of felt like he was doing us a 'favor' by handling the very small things I was asking. In fact, I actually got that feeling from pretty much all the concierge CM's except for Juanita....

We left and headed to the bus stop for MGM - this would be our first experience with the transportation at AKL. We waited about 25 min .. not a great start for sure! :( Then the bus had to stop at BB also .. it ended up taking about 40 min or so for the trip. Entering MGM, it was MOBBED. For some reason, I just seem to notice the crowds more here than at any other place, including AK!

We headed straight back for R'nR for FP's - Alec had decided he was just going to bite the bullet & do it this time! I think more than anything, he wanted to "prove" to his older brother (he'd tell him when he got home) that he did it! LOL

After the FP for that, we headed around to the Animation Tour - this bores everyone else but me! LOL so I did it alone, and they had a snack. Once that was over, it was R'nR time .. and Alec ended up loving the ride! In fact, since we had 4 FP's, we did it twice! I let him call his family from my cell phone as soon as we got off, so he could "brag" to them! LOL

Dave & Evan & Alec wanted to do Star Tours next, so I sat & wrote in the journal a while, catching up. I just don't care for that at all, never have. There was only a short 15 min or so wait, so that's why they decided to go now.

Afterwards, it was time for lunch at the Sci Fi, another of Evan's favorites. It's ok, just not my choice. But I figured Alec would like it too, so I made the PS.

Once lunch was over, we just sort of wandered around MGM one last time, hopped the GMR again, and then decided to head out, back to the hotel for a bit and get out of the oppressive heat. There was a maybe 15 min or so wait for the bus to AKL from MGM.

Once back to the hotel, we all just reveled in the air conditioning for a little while, and relaxed with a couple of snacks from the concierge lounge. An hour or so later, we left and headed to DD. Caught a cab because it was easier & faster than the bus! LOL The cost was about $16. First he dropped off Dave & the boys at the Westside - Dave was taking them to DQ and then he dropped me off at the other end to shop! :)

I hit the big World Of Disney store first and quickly picked out what I wanted as gifts - for my nice SIL & my nieces. They were watching the house, feeding the hamster, watching the dog etc. Then I headed over to the Christmas store, but really didn't see anything I wanted there ... so it was the Art of Disney store next, and .. I DID see something to buy - a Dumbo cell! I've been looking for a long time for a cell with the "Baby Mine" song theme; where Mrs Jumbo is sticking her trunk out and cuddling Dumbo. This is special to me because Dumbo was Evan's first Disney movie he ever watched, and I'd always sit & snuggle him and pretend like I was Mrs Jumbo! LOL (and I still do TRY to do that with him, although he's not having it much now that he's 11!! LOL) Well .. this cell isn't quite that, but it was a cute one. It's little baby Dumbo, sitting right after the stork delivers him, and the stork's in the picture too. I got it and had it shipped back home.

By this point, it was time for me to hike down to the other end, to meet them outside DQ and then head into Cirque. It was an incredible show, as always! I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it had changed somewhat, but .. if so, I didn't notice it. Evan loves it also, but while Alec enjoyed it, I didn't get the sense that he was blown away by it, as we are.

Our dinner PS tonight was Portobello Yacht Club, so we headed in that direction.
Except for the $125,000 musket from the guard in the Wizard of Oz movie in the window at Starabilia, there was nothing I wanted! LOL <g> Actually, we ended up at PYC a little early but were able to be seated with a very short wait.

After dinner was over, we just caught a cab and went back to the hotel to turn in - it had been a fun, but long day!!

Ohhh Shopping !! One of my favorite things to do! ;) I know Evan was proud that he went on RnR. I'm not that brave.
