We had CRT ressies for 8 am this morning, so everyone had to get up pretty early - in fact, I decided they needed a little "help" getting up <eg> .. so I went into the LR and then the other bedroom, and did my 'throw open the curtains and shout "Rise 'n Shine, it's DISNEY TIME"! hehehehehe ...
I'd purposely planned this breakfast with Evan and James in mind, and they *both* enjoyed it! And why wouldn't they, with the 'princesses' surrounding them? LOL So to anyone who's hesitating about doing it because there are boys/men in the family,and you're concerned that they won't like it? Nahhh .. go for it! There are so many super opportunities for great pictures, and the chance for some good natured teasing too! LOL
We finished up with breakfast by about 8:45, and we waiting at the 'rope drop' at the exit of the Casle. When the rope went down, off we went, and Evan and I managed to get on "Dumbo's first flight' of the day! LOL I know .. we're BOTH a bit too old for this ride! <g> But .. there's a sentimental attachment because Dumbo was Ev's first Disney movie/video that he watched on tape and really loved! So, there we were .. a 12 y/o and his mother, flying around on Dumbo! LOL
After Dumbo, the park was still SO empty that we managed to ride Peter Pan's Flight, Space, BL, Snow White, ISAW, Pooh, Splash and BTMRR all within about 2 hrs or so .. unbelievable! It was also incredibly hot again too, so we ducked into HOP to see that and cool off, and then checked out the stores there since Debbi and the others hadn't seen them before. We ended up back over near Frontierland, and grabbed a bite at El Pirata y el Perico for lunch. I let Dave finish mine though, beause I wanted to save room for an eggroll and Dolewhip, and a cookie, later in the day! LOL
After lunch, we took the "Jungle Cruise", and did the Tiki room too, and shopped our way back around to Main Street. After watching the parade again, and looking through the Emporium, we needed to head out to catch the boat to Ft Wilderness for the HDD at 5.
Our timing was good, and they were just beginning to let people into the show when we got there, so we didn't have to stand around and wait in line. And our table was very good -- not directly in front like last year but in the dead center of the room at the round table! What made this night even more fun is that James got chosen to be the "cowboy" in the show! LOL He's a generally pretty shy guy around strangers, which made it all the more ironic, and funny <eg> when he got picked! He had a great time though, and even at 22, as soon as we came out of the show, he actually called his Mother to tell her about it! LOL Too funny!
Once the show let out, we waited for a bus to the front of the campground, where the main parking lot is. And we did that because, as a way to try to make up for the screw up with Debbi's limo, the towncar service said they'd pick us up at HDD and bring us back to AKL! LOL It was completely free, so .. even though I felt like a complete idiot getting in the limo at a campground!! .. we did it! LOL And as had been the pattern for most of our days so far, we got into the hotel JUST in time to beat a bad thunderstorm. That killed the plans to go swimming that evening! Instead, Ev and Melissa went to the gameroom, Amanda and Debbie sat around the room, and James, Dave and I went down to Victoria Falls Lounge for a drink. I've never seen that lounge very crowded... and it wasn't this time either. The bartender in there that evening wasn't terribly friendly .. but, maybe he'd just had a bad day. Guess everyone's entitled to them! LOL None of us lingered too long before coming back up.
(this next part I didn't post to the boards! LOL because I don't need EVERYONE knowing how looney I can get <g> .. it's ok for you girlies to know .. because you already know that anyway! LOL)
When we came in, Debbie and Mandy were up and the other kids were back too, and it seems that all the kids had decided that they were going to take a 'family shower' in the big shower in our room! LOLOL NOT naked .. in their bathing suits, since they couldn't go swimming because of the rain!!!! LOL When they asked if I wanted to get in too, I thought ... Yeah! LOL Why not! so I did! It all probably sounds really silly, and it was! But it was also a great deal of fun too!
