I finally made it through all the DIS Unplugged episodes on the ABD London/Paris trip. I really enjoyed hearing about Disneyland Paris, and the level of detail the Imagineers put into the park. When I heard Pete talking about how impressed he was with the "Tomorrowland" section of Disneyland Paris, it reminded me of something. The Walt Disney Imagineer who designed that land was Thierry Coup.
He was in charge of the redesign of Tomorrowland at Disneyland in California, and after he finished that - Disney sent him to Paris to create Discoveryland. However, once Disneyland Paris opened, Disney didn't need the Imagineers anymore and Universal hired him to help with the creation of Islands of Adventure. He designed, Marvel Super Hero Island, the Spiderman ride, and eventually the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
