Imagination Movers Concert in NO

Did anyone here manage to get tickets?? I was on right at 10 am and they were already sold out. I am so sad! Was hoping to take DD4. Ticket scalpers are selling them on ebay and stub hub for outrageous prices. It was a free concert and you only had to pay 75 cents for the ticket master fees. I am just shocked how fast they went and don't know how anyone was about to get some.
Congrats if any of you did. I envy you!

The tickets were completely gone in 5 minutes. If you check out their FB fan page, you will find that scalpers picked up nearly the entire floor and are selling them for anywhere from $250-$500 a ticket (on ebay mostly). It is a very sad situation. I'm sorry you weren't able to get tickets!

I'm considering going there and dressing up my DD really cute in hopes someone has extra tickets. I know most people bought the 6 with plans to bring friends etc.. so maybe someone will have 2 extra!
It is hard to understand how people could do this to all the kids that won't get to go. I guess they just don't have a heart.

That is so sad......in Seattle we were able to get tickets no problem. We did buy wheelchair seats so I don't know what regular seats were like but I am sure they still had some. The show is very good and Andrew loved it!

They are saying that they are worried there will be empty seats now because people won't pay the scalpers prices.. that is why they were free. From what I see there are people flying in to see the show with tickets they got.
I'm sure they will perform again in New Orleans since it is their hometown, but I hope it is before my DD outgrows them!

I was fortunate to get tickets. I saw the scalpers on eBay and reported them, not sure if it will do any good, but hope so. I was shocked to learn that LA law does not cover scalping online! I can't believe those people can sleep at night taking free tickets and selling them.

I think all of the auctions on ebay have been taken down, so that is good at least.
I'm crossing my fingers that somehow some tickets get released or something.. doubtful I know, but I can live in la la land for a bit.

I really hope they figure some solution that will work out. You know they do not want empty seats! I still can't get over how heartless those greedy scalpers are to literally take tickets away from babies! It makes me wonder what the percentage of tickets are that went to actual families vs these scalpers. I expected the free tickets to go fast being as it's a hometown show and going to be filmed, but I guess we all foolishly expected them to go to families.

btw, did you catch them on Channel 4 this morning? I'm actually in NOLA visiting my mom and dad (or should I say my mom and them) and forgot to put it on this morning!

I encourage you to check your local craigslist often as the date of the concert approaches. Kids get sick, it happens. And there are lots of moms who will attempt to sell their tickets at the last minute just to recoup what they paid for them.

I actually DID have to do this for an Imagination Movers concert...really! We knew the day before we wouldn't be able to go, I posted on CL and sold them the morning of the show for exactly what I'd paid for them. She was beyond thrilled, I was just happy to recoup my loss.

Fingers crossed that you'll get them in the end!

Thanks! I will keep checking craigslist. So far I only see posts of people looking for the tickets. I do hope I get lucky. That is great you were able to recoup your losses that way. I've had to give up tickets before and wasn't able to find anyone to buy.. not for imagination movers though!

Not from NO, nor are we going to the show, but my DS is a HUGE Movers fan, and I agree with the statement about checking Craigslist.

I didn't have tickets to a show here back in November, and a scalper had bought up the entire 3rd row for the 2pm show and was selling them on CL...well long story short, the day of the show I got 2 tickets for the price of 1 because he was so desperate to sell them. When we got to the show, we were the ONLY people in the row and Mover Rich spent a ton of time dancing on the empty seats around us. So it definitely pays to check craigslist for them...might get a great deal.

I'm just glad they are playing a free show at a theme park near us...all you have to do is buy park admission and you get to see the show for free - so it's basically scalper-proof. DS is super psyched about it.
