Going to bed soon also since my eyes are so tired and sore; spent the day with my mom and cried most of the way home after saying goodbye for months probably; didn't expect to have leaving hit me so hard; even hit DH who almost never cries!

Well, back to packing tomorrow and that should keep me too busy to be sad.

So true Nancy! I've lived in Maryland all my life. Thanks for the kind words; they really do help . We need to move out of our current 2 story house, help DS get a fresh start and want to live somewhere that's beautiful but I wish it was closer. I feel good overall about the move though. And I'll always have the DIS I guess!

Phones, video chats (DIL uses that all the time with her parents) and trips when you can.
What does your DS do?

Good ideas! We have set aside money just for trips back home as needed.

He's has a computer science degree; had a very bad first post-college job experience at the company I later worked at myself as a temp for 7 years and now wants to do computer networking. Colorado Springs seems to have many technology companies and lots of military installation contract hiring.

DH used to travel to that area for work....he is a electrical engineer.

Hope he finds a good fit for him there. DD is still looking for something she likes!

BFF and I take trips to each others homes. She comes here in spring, I go there in late summer. And then we go somewhere in Jan. for our birthday celebration.
You'll get a routine before long and it will all be okay.

Last day packing!

We worked non-stop yesterday for 10 hours; visited with friends who stopped in to say goodbye; continued packing for 2 hours and crashed into bed.

Last laundry; last full day in our house of 30+ years; last run to the dump with trash and leftovers and the list of to-do's is endless!

Movers come at 8:00 AM tomorrow; my sister and nephew arrive to travel with us and when the movers are done we jump in the cars and head to Wheeling, WV for the first night.

I'll get back on the DIS when I can!
