I'm waffling now...need Y/C concierge experts

I'm slowly talking my husband into Y/C concierge instead of renting points for a 2 bedroom BC Villa (he just discovered a new passion...Krispy Kreme's,so that helps). Anyway, I have a few questions I want to clear up first:

1. I seem to remember a bathroom on the same floor as concierge...near the receiving area? Am I correct?? I have concerns about 1 bathroom for all of us with kids that still wait to the very last minute to announce they have to potty. Even 2 bathrooms in our home sometimes isn't enough.

2. Which brings me to another question...are there daybeds in the concierge rooms. There are 5 of us total. That's one too many for a one bedroom villa, but a 2 bedroom villa seems way more than we need. I'm thinking that concierge will give us a level of service that will take a load off us parents and make our vacation more relaxing.

3. Finally, I'm budgeting between $1500 and $2000 for our accomodations for 6 nights. Does anyone have info of what concierge rates were available this past May/June...AP or otherwise??

Thank you.

Vicki

1. I do'nt recall the bathroom you descrie, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. My room was only about four or five down from the reception area, so I wouldn't have ever used it. Keep in mind that some of the concierge rooms are a LONG way from the reception area/lounge. Between a potentially long walk plus it could be occupied when you arrive, I wouldn't use tha as a plan. It's likely to backfire.

2. Not all rooms ave daybeds, but if you are a party of five you will get one with a daybed.

Personally I'd prefer the 2BR over concierge any day for the room to stretch out, the washer and dryer, the jacuzzi garden tub, the VCR in the LR, the list goes on.

I am with the previous post about opting for the 2 bedroom villa. Concierge is nice, but if you have a kitchen you can fix your own food and also spread out and have some room. And speaking of taking a load of the parents...nothing can do that like a private bedroom where you can close the door and have a few moments of peace together!!

At the Yacht Club, there is a bathroom on the concierge floor. It is near the concierge desk.

I'd stick with your plans for a twobedroom villa. We had a one bedroom villa this past Jan. and I tried out a personal chef to cook us a gourmet meal (here is the link for the personal chef info:
http://www.orlandotripplanner.com/orlandoservices.htm )
Anyway, the chef also provides other services like gourmet meals, prepared to order and packaged for freezing so that you can thaw and bake or heat up in your own oven in the villa. It seemed cheaper to me than eating out especially for a family of 4 or more. They deliver the meals to your hotel.

Anyway, I've also done Yacht CLub conceirge and I enjoyed the Polynesian conceirge much better. With the 5 of you I think you will really love the space the villa provides (the bathrooms are hugh even in the one bedroom).I mentioned the chef because I LOVE concierge too but with the chef and bringing a few items from home, I had my "own" conceirge right there in the room . In addition to the gourmet meal she fixed for us (there were pleanty of left overs for a lunch and dinner the next day even from that) - I had her fix up two snack trays like they might have on the concerige floor (one fruit and cheese and one vegies with dip) Each afternoon and AM, I'd set out the trays to munch on - it was great.

Just an idea. Both options are very nice. Without a discount, I don't think the $1500 - $2000 will quite cut it for Yacht Club concierge for 6 nights. With a discount, perhaps. Even renting on points for the villa - Sun - Thur are the cheapest points, Fri and Sat are very expensive to rent.

No, $1500-$2000 will NOT cut it for concierge....just got back yesterday :( Spent June 28-July 3- 5 nites at 406 a nite at YC Conc and then 3 nites at AKL Conc and that was with the FL Resd/Annual pass discount (they are both the same)

You will have to specify a daybed. We checked into our room (5 of us) and there were only 2 queen beds! No daybed to be found!
I went back up to the concierge lounge to be switched to a different room but they had none avail with a daybed. They gave us a rollaway bed at no charge instead.
