Right now I have a Coral Reef reservation for 11/29. We made this reservation because we will be travelling with my 2 yr old dd and my 10 month old ds. We thought that the 2 yr old would love eating wtih sea life:) Anyway, an opportunity has just come up for a LeCellier reservation on the same day. My dh and I have never been and really want to try LeCellier. What would you do???

I have never been to either. Our kids will be 22 months and 5 when we go in March, and I plan on choosing Coral Reef for our one meal at Epcot. The only reason I am picking this over Le Cellar is beacuase of the fish tank/atmosphere. I plan on ordering a cake for my oldest for his birthday too. Just my 2 cents.

Based on our recent steak at Coral Reef, I'd pick Le Cellier.

We were there a month ago and ate at both restaurants. Coral Reef kept my kids (ages 6 and 3) occupied because of the fish tank. Plus we were able to get a diver for my dh's birthday and they both thought that was cool. Le Cellier, however, had the option of steak on the kids menu and both my kids love steak. Both places had great food, although I do think Le Cellier is overrated. Since you've never been to Le Cellier and you want to try it, I would say to pick that.

I agree- switch to LC. Your kids are too small to really enjoy or remember CR enough to make you stay with it if you don't want to. Your son especially won't have a clue. (that didnt quite come out right!)

Do LC now and if/when you go back when they are older, do CR.

Neither one had much in the way of veggies in their adult entrees. (Sept '08)The Mahi Mahi at Coral Reef was the best entree we ordered at either place, IMO. Our service was better at Coral Reef. Both times I've been there, the service has been outstanding.

Last year at LeCellier we had outstanding service, this year, not so much. It was okay. DH said overall he liked Le Cellier food better, but individually he agrees that the fish was the single best entree.

Despite early ADR's, we had to wait for our table at both places. Both meals took quite a bit of time: about two hours from our ADR time until we were done. Yikes!

So it's kind of a toss up.

If you been to Coral Reff then I would definately go to LeCellier.

We've gone to both several times starting when my youngest was under 1 (she's now 9). While I like Le Cellier's food much better, the kids have always had a better experience at the Coral Reef - especially if you can sit by the tank.

The best dinner was when the sea turtle landed right in front of my 2 yo and stayed there for 15+ minutes....

You are going to get both sides all day on these 2 locations.. so here is my vote, LOL

I would choose Coral Reef, we had meals at both locations during our recent stay and had a bad experience at Le Cellier.

The service was great at Coral Reef, we enjoyed the food, and I love the atmosphere.

We have a 2 year old and she is just amazed by fish. She was not with us on this trip, but I know she would have been just lost with the aquarium, loving every second of it!

We didn't have the diver with a sign for us, but did have the personalized menus and this was great.

If you do choose Coral Reef, be sure to ask for an aquarium window seat... what fun!!

I vote for Le Cellier. I just ate at both places on my last trip. the meal at Le Cellier was amazing! And I thought Coral Reef was only okay.

We just got back yesterday and had lunch at Coral Reef last week. I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old. I would definitely recommend Coral Reef. The 8 month old was clueless (she actually slept in her stroller through most of the meal), but the 2 year old LOVED being able to look at the fish in the tank. We were on the second tier so we were not right next to the tank, but our daughter could still see the fish fine. It kept her entertained for the whole meal! Our meals were delicious. My husband and I both had the Mahi Mahi and it was our favorite dish of the whole trip. It was a great meal all around.

I enjoyed the food at both restaurants and would make a suggestion based on your children's behavior. LeCellier just isn't a place that you (or your family) will enjoy if your kids aren't going to just sit there and eat their meal. I view it as more of a restaurant while Coral Reef seems to be more entertainment.

For the record, the only time that I have eaten at Le Cellier was with my then 13 month old that was very cranky so I spent most of the meal in the hallway, trying to calm him down. If this would have happened at Coral Reef, I would assume that the tank would have helped atleast a little. The only time that I have eaten there was with a 2 year old that was pretty much entertained throughout the meal (but, we were also at one of the tables right next to the tank).

I also vote for La Cellier no question.
We have always visited with our kids and they loved it. It is very kid friendly and the food is the best

Somes thing we found at Coral Reef was this:
First the food was not as good and the kids choice very limited compared to La Cell.
If you do not have a table next to the acquarium, the kids tend to want to get up and move closer. much to your frustration and the diners sitting at the front row seats.

I would choose Le Cellier. Even though I love the atomosphere at CR, I think the food is much better at Le Cellier!
