About 75 adults. The vast majority are 35 - 55 years old. A few kids will be there...... looking for some ideas on some songs you hardly ever hear, but they make you smile when you hear them. :):thumbsup2

Oh fun!

Are you going for any sort of theme?? Tropical-esque? This will help me with suggestions! :)

Not really. Or at least my wife hasn't informed me what it will be, yet. ;) I do know we hope to have people dancing as I will have about 5 of my DJ friends over with a KILLER sound system. :)

Well, wait, it may not be a theme, exactly, bt we sure will be playing a LOT of old school hip hop and rap....

Ohhh - well that kills my Tropical-esque songs.

Alright...old school hip hop!? Can I come??? :woohoo:

It Takes 2 - Rob Base and DJ Easy Rock
It's like that - RUN DMC
Bust a Move - Young MC
(you know what song) - 2 Live Crew
Me, Myself & I - De La Sol
Freak like me - Adina Howard
Hip Hop Hooray - Naughty By Nature

More?

I know we will play:

OPP
Brick House
Brass Monkey
U Can't Touch This
Funky Cold Medina
Bust a Move
Ice Ice Baby

but we'll mix it up... some new stuff, and even go back to the 50's.

I love these suggestions, as well as the others posted. But I would love to see 'Paul Revere' added to the list.

Play some new stuff please. I have met alot of people my age that are listening and I am 44.:lmao:

Some new hip hop is techno and fun to dance to, like Black Eyed Peas and their "Boom Boom POW", Jamie Fox and T. Pain, "Blame it on the Alcohol" toss in some Lady GaGa, Rhianna, Maria Carey has a cool soul techno out, "Obsessed" for a slow hip hop song if you are looking for it, etc....

Gotta get-get "Boom Boom POW"...;)

Apache Jump on It--ok may not be the most politically correct but it is a fun song

White Lines-- the Grandmaster Flash one, not the Duran Duran one

Rapture- Blondie

And the first Beastie Boys album (1986) has some great songs "Girls", "No Sleep till Brooklyn", "Brass Monkey"

There was no hip hop or rap in the 50's just bubble gum rock n roll:rotfl:

:confused3 I didn't say we where ONLY playing rap and hip hop. I said we'll mix it up.

Only thing that will NOT be played is music with explicit lyrics.

Can't nobody hold me down - Puff daddy
What's My Name - Snoop :dogdance:
I wish - Skee-Lo
Hypnotize - Notorious BIG
