Oh boy...did I just get punished for spending too much time on the DISboards! My DD just CUT her brother's hair and right before his 1st birthday party on Sunday and our big WDW trip!!!!!!!
I am the worst Mom. I forgot she had her little scissors. We had big plans to go to the WDW barber shop on MAIN STREET USA for his "first" hair cut and now thanks to his sister it will be his second!
She cut her own hair once and she got in so..... much trouble I didn't think she would ever dream about doing something like that again. Oh to be 3 again (going on 4). No worries!
I guess I should be thankful because it could look a lot worse than it does. I am just so mad at myself!!!!
Oh well, it's only hair right....it will be funny later, right???
I hate being mad....
Thanks for listening to me vent......

Side note....as you can see I obviously haven't learned my lesson cause I'm back on the computer!

OOOOHHHH NOOOOO!!!! DON'T BLAME YOURSELF!!!! It must be something about the 3 yr old blood..Everyone I talk to says it was the 3 yr old who did it..My DD did it when she was 3 as well.

I am sorry...he will love going to the barbershop anyway!!!

I have a DD who will be 3 in April and I have hidden every pair of scissors we own in a cabinet above the fridge that neither of them can get to!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for being nice!!!
Oh those scissors are hidden alright. That's why I'm mad at myself! I LET her use them and then let my guard down. :confused3
I guess the control freak in me just can't stand that I can't fix it.

Too make matters worse.....my DD just got a bad hair cut herself. Her bangs look terrible and that was from a professional.

Again, control freak in me is just mad cause I can't fix that either!
Wecome to MOTHERHOOD, right! :laundy:

Thanks for the response!

Oh boy....those will be some interseting pix! :rotfl2:

Can you send her to my house DM won't cut my hair and she is the only one thats touched it for 41 years. I don't think she would get mad if it was a child that cut it.

Oh and shes a professional and we live over her salon and even she used the wrong cutter one night and took a chunk of my hair right down to the scalp . She blended it in a bit and everything grew back.

Any chance we can see a picture of DS with his FIRST NEW HAIR CUT!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry I was WAY.......to upset to start clicking the camera!!!! :scared1: I think I was crying! Hey on the bright side DD used scissors. I once saw a liitle toddler who gave himself a semi-buzz cut!
Just trying to bring myself down from :furious: to this :sunny: with happy thoughts!

Seriously, it doesn't look too bad. I'm sure I am just being melodramatic :faint: !

Well look at the positive side of all this...no incidences involving the scissors...like a cut to his head or eye.... :)

Thanks for another very good point!

But seriously, when you calm down, take a photo at least for his baby book...under the heading...DS' FIRST HAIR CUT and then in parenthesis (given by DD and then the date).... :lmao: :lmao:

I hear ya.... I already got the hair out of the garbage (where his sister tried to hide the evidence) and saved it for posterity! :sad2:

Ohh...she sounds like a real hoot...what a cutie princess: ...hiding the evidence... :rotfl:

But remember, mom, she did NOT hurt DS or you would have heard him screaming...nope...just a little thinner on top!!!

Really...I know he's a baby and all but I said to him.....
"this is when you choose not to cry!!!!!!! "
They WILL be the death of me!

BUT I LOVE EM!!!!

Hey, Side note...I am still trying to figure out how to do the pix in the posts. I tried to read up on it the other night and my brain felt like it was going to explode!

My DS gave himself a haircut when he was 5. I remember telling him that morning that I was going to cut his hair when I got home from work that evening. He decided he would save me the trouble. He took his safety scissors and cut out four big chunks of hair right in the middle of his head down to his scalp.

I felt so awful realizing I didn't put the scissors away all I could do was look at him and cry. Meanwhile he's patting me up saying "its okay mommy."

We had to get his head shaved. :guilty: And wait for it to grow back.

It happens. We laugh about it now. What makes it even funnier is that the scissors package said it would only cut paper, not cloth, etc. They should have added "Will cut hair"

Do you think possibly that DD overheard you saying that DS needed to get a haircut or that she knew about him getting the haircut at MK and she decided she would take care of it? I just wonder because when DD cut her hair I asked her why she did it, and she told me it was because I had said that her bangs were getting too long and that they needed to be cut.. :goodvibes SOOOOOO she decided to HELP ME OUT!!! :rotfl:

To tell you the truth I have NO idea what she was thinking!!! We try NOT to talk about haircuts after she cut her own hair about a year ago.

I love that kid but she's a little pistol! princess:

I am over it though!
We are going to WDW in 4 days!!!!!!!

You are not a bad mother...we are all human. My DD once decided to play "beach" with DS and covered him head to toe with butt cream. Iwas in my room and smelled the distinct smell of Desiden...he was white all over and she had cream on her face and arms as well....let me just say that that was our THIRD call to poison control as a result of DD's actions....I never thought the butt cream had to be under lock and key, but it is now!

On a side note, she did such a good job evenly covering him, I'm considering having HER apply his sunscreen from now on. ;)

:rotfl2: Thank you for the laugh! I needed one! The visualization was great! I can't imagine having to clean off that diaper cream! My DD did put aquaphor in her hair a couple years ago. I had to wash her hair like a thousand times!!!!!
Thanks again!

It should be disboard law that if you have a humorous story about something your child did, a picture must accompany the story. :lmao:

A while back an email was being sent around with a child whose sibling covered her face with black sharpie. It could be worse.....

Good point! I am still trying to figure out how to do the whole picture on the post thing!!!! :confused3
