:guilty: O.K. My dh and I have been planning our surprise visit for 12/7-12/14. We finally told our 3 girls on Thanksgiving. They were so excited. It really made me feel good. My DH was injured at work and had surgery in August. He was out of work for 4 months. We booked our trip in Aug 07, and purchased our airline (non-refundable) 3 months before the injury! The timing isn't the greatest, but as it turns out, we NEED a break and some Disney fun! Here's the problem, I CAN'T FIND MY GIRLS MICKEY EARS AND LANYARDS! I have searche my home from top to bottom. I have my things and my dh, but, not one thing of my girls. The girls have saved and paid for ALL of their own things (pins,ears,etc.). I can't afford to replace everything, and my heart is breaking for them. I feel so bad!!!:guilty:

ok, take a deep breath (or scream first and then take a deep breath) and think... when did you last see them? I find myself putting things in a "safe" place - ha! safe from myself I think :rolleyes1 . But once I remember when I last saw them and what else was going on at the time, I recall where things were put. I'll cross my fingers that it works for you - you have all week to locate ;)
Good luck :goodvibes
and have a great trip!

Look in the most unlikely place and then in the most obivious (is it already packed in a bag you intended to take???)...if you still don't find them blame DH for moving them (J/K):lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Do you have pets? My cats are constantly "taking" things to play with and hiding them under beds and couches...UGH:headache:

Okay, breathe in, breathe out...

Let's think. When they came in, you opened the packaged, looked at them and hid them.. where? Are they in a bag, suitcase, or drawer? Did you stash them under the bed, up on a shelf, in a closet, attic or basement? Are they buried under something? Did they come in separate orders? How long ago did you order them? Does your DH know where they might be?

I know, they should be in my closet. I put all of their things together w/ my things, and kept it in a disney bag in my closet. I got the bag out and my things, dh things are there, but not one thing my girls bought! the only thing I can think of is one of the girls decided to wear it to school for hat day! I wish I knew when this all happened. We haven't been to WDW since 2006. I came home from the trip and put the bag on my shelf. I got it down last night, and WAAAAA!!! I'm sure I'll find it either 1 week AFTER our trip, or in about 10 years!!:headache:

Keep looking - I'm sure you'll find it. We lost my son's lanyard before our last trip. We had our stuff and our daughter's stuff, but not his. He was pretty upset. We looked and looked and looked..... We finally found it in time.

Usually I find that kind of stuff when I'm looking for something else, so stop looking & maybe they'll pop up.

1) I hope you find them! and
2) You are NOT a bad mom!! While I know having the ears and lanyards would be ideal, I promise you that your family will have an amazing and magical time without them as well. Don't let this get you down. You're about to have a wonderful vacation. Don't allow this small detail to spoil that!

*hugs*

:cheer2: Guess what my dh found this pm? He remembered that HE put the bag of stuff in his closet to keep it SAFE!! Nice memory, if you are 90 years old!HA! I was so relieved that I started to cry. Now you must know that I cry when any event (good or bad) occurs. So thank you all so much for all of the good wishes, they do work! Thanks again!!!!

Glad you found them!
I still have to find the one I bought for my ds :o I did the same thing.. I bought it from disneyshopping and then tucked it away somewhere. Then we moved. And now I can't find it anywhere! It was really cute, too.. the one with Mickey as a knight.

Glad you found them! One day last week I lost my bluetooth headset. I KNEW it was in my purse, took my son to the doc, came out to the car, buckled him in, went to get it and it was GONE. Emptied my purse, searched the van, finally put him back in his stroller and went back in the docs...it wasn't there. Went back to the van, buckled him back in, resolved that it was gone, opened my purse to get my keys and it was RIGHT THERE ON TOP of my keys. Completely impossible. I just had to laugh and told my first husband (who passed away) ha ha very funny! :confused3

princess: Iknow what you mean. I can't even be angry about him forgetting where he put them. I'm just too grateful to have them back.:santa:

Geez you disappoint me I thought you might have taken me over as the worst mother;) .
Unfortunatly I think I still am:sad2: :sad2: . Not Disney related but I was playing with my DS3 on Thanksgiving and caused him to trip and split his forehead on a ceramic tile step into our kitchen. We spent the better part of our afternoon in the ER with 5 stitches. So good news for you OP I am the worst mother. I am also double bad because I don't even have a disney vacation on the books. My husband and I are taking a cruise this year with out our boys:woohoo: :woohoo: . There must be a special place you know where for my type of parenting:laughing: .
Have a great trip and remember I am out here and have taken over as the worst mom. At least your husband saved the day for you.

Sorry, but that isn't the worst. I can't tell you all of unintended ouches I have given my 3 girls! First child, first trim of the fingernails, I was trying to act brave and like I knew what I was doing. I was talking to my dh and clipping away. I looked at the finished hand and had cut the tip of EACH finger! She didn't cry, ut I sure did!! 2nd dd I was walking into a family party and she kept trying to let go of my hand. I forgot she was just learning to walk and she fell & hit her head on the sidewalk. We walked into the party with a unicorn horn sized knot on her forhead.Nice I know!! DD#3- well she was ill for the first couple of years, so I was extremely careful with her, probablty too much ( and that is almost as bad!). I guess we all just do our best and pray the God is watching out for our kids when we are distracted!

We have too much in common I did the finger nail thing too. I know that one hurt me more than my son because I too cried while he did not.
