I'm Tempting Fate.... a PTR frought with peril and terror!! Updated 9/3!!

Kidani with a savannah view! Yippee! I just saw pictures of a 2 bedroom on MEK's report and it looks beautiful. Your sleeping arrangements sound great.

Hope you will be able to find some time to relax and enjoy that amazing tub that hooked you in the first place! :) A glass of wine and bubble bath after a long day of park touring... there are worse ways to spend an evening...

Can't wait to hear more about your plans.

WOOT...YAY for AKV and a savannah view to boot! You guys will be living it up in the lap of luxury!!! I can't wait to see all your pictures!!

Can't wait to hear more about your itinerary and all the wonderful things you have planned for this family trip!!!

Great rates on the airfare!! I'm sooooo annoyed they released through 1/8!!! We leave on the 9th!! Their website says the next set of dates will be release in Sept! September! I don't want to wait that long! Don't they know I have a trip to WDW burning a hole in my pocket!? Jeeze!! I wanna spend my money and I can't!

BTW, I forgot to say HI NEIGHBOR!!!! DH and I took the DVC plunge after we toured during our trip minus the kiddos in March! We are now the proud owners of 200 points at AKV!!! Our January trip is booked at Kidani! 2 BR SV!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!

Great resort and view choice! Sounds like it will be simply delightful!

I'm joining in! We visited Sanaa and Kidani Village in May and it was amazing!

Hey Paula! I have been meaning to come over and ask you something. I think you mentioned that you were trying out the Owners Locker...right? If I am wrong, just call me crazy and ignore me. ANYHOO! The point of this is that I follow the Owner's Locker people on Twitter. It's very amusing and I love his posts but everyday he will post the names of the lockers and such. I have seen some really good ones....like "Purple People Eater", "Retirement", "Tweedledee" and "Tweedledum", "Escape Kit". So my point is...what are you going to name your locker? It has to be a good one so I can see it on Twitter! :lmao:

EDIT: I forgot to include "MOUSE DROPPINGS" Hehehehe.

Welcome Welcome!! I'm happy to have you here:goodvibes I'm so glad that you enjoyed Sanaa and Kidani! Did you stay there? or did you visit for dinner??? I'm excited to check it all out in September, prior to our actual stay in november!

Yes I am getting an Owners Locker! I'm going to put stuff in it in September... so it's all set for November (part of the reason Jen and I are making a Wally-world run... for laundry soap and misc sundries!!)

I hadn't thought about a name yet.... Anyone have any sugggestions?????

I promise an update sometime between now and Sunday.... really... I promise:rolleyes:

Well I noticed today, that I have 31 days til I get to make my ADRs:woohoo: Which is really exciting, since unlike last year.... 31 days til ADR day means my trip is in just 4 months... NOT 7:rotfl2:

So I thought I'd give you all an idea of what I'm thinking of with ADRs and general plans. It's too early for 'actual' itinerary plans, since I have no idea what the hours will be. I am working under several assumptions at this point, just to get myself a starting point.... make sense??

Saturday... Arrival Day!! We are taking a 2pm flight, so i don't expect to get to Kidani til about 6pm. This is not a bad thing, since our room should be ready when we get there! I know I'm not making any ADRs for tonite. The parks are expected to be REALLY busy (UG has today listed as a '9'):scared1: So we have 2 options.

Option #1 hang out at the resort, eat at Mara, see the animals with the night vision goggles, get a good nite sleep:thumbsup2

Option #2 go to MK for Spectro and Wishes. Yep it will be packed, but because of that, it will probably be open late. We could grab a bite to eat, see Wishes and the late parade, then head back. I love trying to get to MK on arrival day... it makes you feel like 'YAY! I'M HERE!!'

I like the idea of a relaxed evening.... but i have a hard time considering NOT seeing MK on arrival day. I probably won't decide at all which option, til we get there and see how every one feels:thumbsup2

PARK DAYS I'm planning (loosely) 1 full day per park.
The general ADR plan for these days....

MK Day Whispering Canyon Cafe... We have never tried this one, but i think the kids will love the antics of the restaurant and the bottomless skillets will be perfect for my 'bottomless' nephews:thumbsup2

AK Day O'hana... Allison wants to try this one, so we are going to try to work it into the plans. My thought is, unless, by some miracle, there is PM EMH on our AK day... it closes early, so we can just hop a bus from AK to the Poly for Dinner around closing time.

DHS Day 50's Prime Time Cafe... i want to try this one. i think it will be a hoot! The menu looks very appealing and i know the kids will find lots of things they like on this one!

Epcot Day Le Cellier (if we can get it) or Biergarten (if we can't)... Nanna loved le Cellier and that is her only request for dining... so i'm going to try... we will see how it works out. If we can't get it, Biergarten is my backup plan (for now). Ellie is entranced with Germany and has wanted to go there for a long time. It's a buffet with lots of meat... so that will make the boys happy:lmao:

MVMCP Day yep we are doing the party!! it's the only WDW party I haven't experienced, so i can't just skip it! There are parties scheduled on 3 days while we are there. I'm leaning toward Thursday.... but the party date will be determined by when I can get Allison an appointment at BBB!!! She really wants to go to the boutique and get all gussied up for the party. Ellie decided she is much too mature for that, so it will just be Allison. I'm going to let her get the full deluxe package including the dress and everything... by next year, she may decide she's too mature for that stuff too... i want to do the whole kit and kaboodle now, just in case i don't get to do it with her later.:wizard: I'm hoping for an afternoon appointment maybe 3-4pm

ADR for today... Chef Mickey's! We can't go to WDW without going to CM. period. just can't do it! I'm leaning toward breakfast, but could do a 5pm Dinner if necessary and BBB is at 3pm.

The rest of the morning/afternoon will be a pool day for the kids ... I'll take Allison for her appointment, then everyone will meet up with us at MK

EXTRA DAY After all that, we have 1 more full touring day. I'm guessing, because of the kids, it will be split with DHS and Epcot. There is too much to do at Epcot to do it in 1 day... i know the girls want to play the Kim Possible game and they do enjoy Innovations as well. I'm tentitively planning Dinner at Garden Grill or at Mama Melrose. I think both menus look like something the kiddos will enjoy... plus again.... Garden Grill is bottomless, perfect for the bottomless boys:thumbsup2 i like the idea of splitting the day between these 2 parks, because with just a little boat ride in between, we can flip flop it either direction morning/night depending on if we got to see Fantasmic/Illuminations earlier in the week. With Fantasmic only having limited showings these days, I'm definately making sure to get it in there, even if other things need tweaked to do it!

Departure Day!! We have a late flight, so we definaltely have park time this morning. So I'm thinking AK... since it is so close. hopefully breakfast at Tusker House (or Boma as a backup... they have a terrific breakfast buffet!) Putz around at AK til 1pm or so... then back to Kidani to catch ME to the airport!

What do you all think??? Starting to come together pretty good huh??

Paula

Your ADR plans sound fantastic!! I think they are great choices for the parks and how you have matched them with park days. 'Ohana's after AK is a great choice!

They sound great and FUN! WCC is a very fun place, esp if you get a server who is really "into" it, same with Prime Time. And good call on the buffets with your hungry boys. They will love Ohana with skewer after skewer of meat!

Allyson

I just love your ADR plans and they sound like so much fun!! You have definitely put a lot of thought into them and I hope that it all works out and you get exactly what you want when your window opens up!!!!

Your plan sounds great!!! We love WCC and 50's PT!! Great places!! I'm thinking about trying Ohana in January! I think the kids will really enjoy it!

Your ADR plans are coming together VERY nicely! :thumbsup2 You have quite a few I haven't tried so I'll be anxious to hear what you think. I think you've made some great choices for entertainment and like how you're strategizing to fill your "bottomless nephews."

I think you'll like MVMCP. I thought it was really cute. And oh so fun to see the parks all decked out for the holidays! :)

Just read through your plans and your potential ADR's. Everything sounds great. You are going to have such a wonderful time. Wowsa.... A September trip and then a November trip. SSR and then Kidani. You are living large now. I still can't get over your cheap flights. As it turns out I did decide to leave from BWI in September. The flights went back to $59 each way, but the flight with the noon departure opened. That's perfect for me. Get up, drive, leave BWI at noon and be there by 2:30pm to enjoy my first evening. I can handle that!

Hi MEK!! Thanks... I'm pretty excited about the ADR plans too... i hope at least most work out. I'm getting jenjolt to do my ADRs since I have to work that am:mad: But it's probably better that way... she worked some serious magic getting all of our September ones during FREE DINING!!

yay for the flights!! I was a bit bummed about flying on the 2pm flight but the noon one sold out on me while my mom and i were debating it:rotfl2: Oh well.... I hope that you like flying out of BWI... i've only done it once (on Airtran). I hated Airtran, but the airport was very nice!

Paula

Well I don't have much to say today, BUT I figured that I should post something, so the mods don't close me:rotfl2:

I got our Park and Fly hotel booked! yay! Another thing off the to do list:woohoo:

We are actually going to drive down to baltimore the day of our flight, go to the hotel, park the car, and take a shuttle to the airport. On the way home... we will take the shuttle to the hotel, then stay over before driving home on Sunday.

I've never tried the stayover at the end of the trip, but since our flight is kinda late, I think we will be tired to drive home.

On other related news... my mom (aka Nanna) has a friend who kindly offered us the use of her mini van to take to the airport. Apparently she has 2-3 cars, so there is no porblem that we will be using it for the week. I'm sorta excited about this, because now we can all ride down together instead of taking 2 cars. It'll feel more like a vacation:lmao:

Okey Dokey... lets see, anything else??

OH Owner's Locker stuff!! now I'm going to put all this stuff in the locker in September, but since it is related to enjoying WDW regardless...I'm going to put it in this PTR, is that OK with all ya??

So far here is what I have....

  • 3 disney princess beach towels
  • 1 pirates of the carribean beach towel
  • bandaids
  • bandaid blister blocker bandages
  • hair gummies for the girls
  • curling iron (i hate to mess with taking them)
  • shampoo (full sized)
  • conditioner (full sized)
  • kids shampoo (ful sized)
  • nightlights (4)
  • 1 bath and body works hand soap

I think that's all I have for now...

some things I know I want to get yet for it....

  • Dryer sheets
  • laundry soap (will get on our WDW wallyworld run in Sept)
  • drink lanyards
  • small can coffee... it'll be good for Sept and Nov, then I can toss the rest. Still cheaper than buying the nescafe swill blech!
  • sweet and low packets
  • a couple smaller sized toothpaste tubes
  • gold bond powder/other powder

I know that my lists will expand/contract a bit yet. I am excited about the locker... i think it will make my travels much simpler!

OK that was longer than i expected! hope you didn't fall asleep!:rotfl2:
