Hello!

I am so glad I found this forum! I have so many questions and through all my reading I've found so many answers!! THANK YOU!!

So, I'm looking for some specific information that I can't seem to find. In one week from today (YAY!!!!!!!!!! ) My husband, myself and our 3 month old daughter will be heading to Disney for a family reunion. We will be meeting my parents, grandmother and 2 sets of very close family friends there.

I've only ever been to Magic Kingdom when I was in college with a bunch of friends (it was a pit stop, no one but the girls wanted to go LOL.)

So I need ALL the information you can provide me with in regards to babies. What can I expect? What should I know? What is something I should bring that I might not think to pack?

Luckily there will be MANY arms to hold her, so I can still enjoy the park. My mother (aka Nana) isn't much of a ride person so she is quite content holding wee peanut while my DH and I enjoy ourselves (side note: My mother came to stay with me for the birth but my father and grandmother have yet to meet the baby, so that's a little extra excitement for the trip!).

I'm bringing the stroller but I'll also have a variety of slings/baby carries with me as well.

I really appreciate any information you can provide. As you can tell I'm really excited. We are doing Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney MGM studios, as well as downtown disney.

We were pretty reluctant about taking a 3 month old to Disney but from what I can tell it's quite baby friendly.

I think I read somewhere that they have a nursing mothers room/area in each park, can someone confirm this?

I can't wait for vacation. DH and I haven't been on vacation since we went to Vegas 2 years ago! Plus, we live in the Pacific Northwest and I am SO sick of the rain and ready for some sunshine!!!

to start - congrats & what fun!!!! Yes they have Baby Care Centers in each park - they will be marked on the maps - MK's is next to the Crystal Palace.
bring the carrier
the number one tip anyone & everyone will give you ---
FOLLOW BABY"S SCHEDULE - if you have a cranky baby no one has fun. if it is time for a nap - let her nap. Being 3 months old she will sleep alot (obviously) so make sure you have HER stroller - the one she is most comfortable in so she can nap in the stroller.

bring change of clothes/diapers & wipes on the plane(if you are flying)

there is so much to tell. I am at work and can not list it all but others will each have more to list.

The baby care centers are wonderful. You can nurse in a rocking chair in a quiet, cool room. They also have changing tables and you can purchase anything you might have forgotten.

I used my maya wrap with my four month old all through the parks. We could go on many rides with him snug and comfy. He also loved looking at the scenery in the rides.

I also agree with bringing your own stroller at that age. They can get quite a few naps that way.

The most important thing is to protect that little one from the sun!!! Always make sure she is shaded somehow.

If there is a ride the baby can't go own, but your mother would like to try they provide something called baby swap. Let the CM at the entrance of the ride know you need to swap and they will explain what to do. Usually, the person with the baby waits at a designated spot while the others ride, then someone from your party holds the baby while you ride with up to 3 (I think) other people. You go through the fast past line so the wait is not long. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you SO MUCH! I had no idea about this baby swap thing- that is REALLY handy. Wow what a great idea.

It's going to be so nice to be in an environment where kids (of all ages) are the key players. Sometimes it's frustrating living in a society where kids are often looked at as nuisances when they make the slightest peep in a restaurant, etc. At least at Disney I'm not gonna have to worry about that- I think most people go there knowing that they will hear the sound of children's voices :rotfl:

I would also talk to your pediatrician about sunscreen. Here in MA it's a no-no until 6 months, but when I spoke to a pediatrician I was told that the Florida sun is different and that FL ped's tell their families to use sunscreen.

I also agree that you should take your stroller...do not rent or swap one. My DS was 14 months on his first trip and he slept like nobody's business for over an hour (sometimes more) each nap because he was comfy in his stroller! And, my parents were with us, not ride people either...it was great. We had the best of both worlds...enjoyed ALL of our favorite rides and got to experience the magic with our lil' guy!

Have a blast!

We took our 3 month old twins last time. It really wasn't bad at all. I agree about taking your own stroller and slings/carriers. I did use sunscreen on them, but I kept them out of the sun as much as possible. We also took them on ALOT of rides/attractions...they can go on anything without a height restriction. Also, we have found that Disney restaurants are really great about letting you bring your baby in the stroller into the restaurant (even our big double!), this really helps out when they are sleeping, it lets you relax and enjoy yourself, while your little one gets a comfortable rest out of the heat.

You will have a great time...ENJOY!!
