I'm still new to DVC, what events go on in Nov/Dec for DVC members?

We will be going down for 12days Nov/Dec for our first family trip (DH 26, Me 23 & DD 1.5yr). So this is our first trip using our DVC home resort, first time back for DH & me since our Honeymoon 2003 and DD's first trip ever to Disney.

I have heard of the block parties during summer, but any DVC events during winter I should check out??

Thanks,
Margaux

The past few years there have been member holiday parties outside the International gateway to Epcot. They serve cookies, cocoa, and other drinks and snacks. When we went we got a nice silver DVC key tag, and a chance for a beautiful gift basket of DVC items. The characters came in thier holiday garb for photo ops with the members. Since that is also a big DIS time at WDW, we got to meet quite a few folks from this board there too! :goodvibes

It seems that DVC have kept "Welcome Home Wednesdays." Now they are held at the Atlantic Dance Hall, they used to be at SSR.

We got an "extra" e-mail from DVC about 2 weeks before our upcoming vacation. This allerted us to the happenings that would be in effect during the week we were there. It also talks about the Members Perks that would be applicable.

It's a nice service for us, to be able to look and see what's happening Before we get there.

Bobbi :thumbsup2

This sounds so cool! We will be in WDW with friends who are not members. Do you know if they would be allowed to join in the fun with us if this was going on during our trip?

Now that I don't know! The person we had with us as a guest the last time is also a member, so of course, she went! I can't see why they couldn't though.

You all are so ahead of us when we were your age! You will have sooo many questions, but you will find that exploring all the resorts is most rewarding. There is no bad place to stay. Events are just a bonus... and sometimes a reason to make plans. We have learned that events sometimes means overcrowding. Go slow and work the DIS boards. :)

I went to the holiday party last Dec with a friend. We both had to show our DVC blue member cards in order to get in. I would assume that you have to be a DVC member.

Thanks for the info! We might just have to skip it, wouldn't want to leave them out.

I wouldn't worry about it, because we did NOT have to show our blue cards. They did ask for roomkeys though, and they had to say "member" on them. As long as they are guests of yours staying with you, I don't see any problem. I guess if you don't feel sure, then I would call your guide and ask if it's Okay.

I think that guest are included. We never did get there, but we were having a grand gathering in '04 and I had called to see if someone would come with us, and was told they could.

Bobbi :)

Thanks guys! Has anyone heard when exactly the holiday party will be? I haven't seen a date yet?
