Im starting an official Droid App request page

I love my driod! sign me up- meanwhile I enjoy stalking "lines" I review the wait times and determine which park I would go to if I were at WDW. I need a life!

Droid user here too who REALLY wants ETicket. I have a Touch but that won't work in the parks!
Please?!

If my animals will quit trying to fall apart on me and I can keep my "fun" money from becoming the Vet's income, I am planning to upgrade to a Droid very soon. I would love for the DIS app to be available for the Droid.

I still stand by my assertion that eventually most apps will be browser based and either entirely or mostly OS agnostic. We just need mobile browsers to get a bit better and HTML 5 to get adopted :thumbsup2

I really wish you are correct but it won't happen until Apple allows Flash to run on the iPhone. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen because it would eat tremendously in the App Store revenues.

HTML5 solves the Flash problem, but still requires it to be implemented in the browsers-of-choice before it will gain acceptance.

And I doubt you will ever see HTML5 on an iPhone. Different technology. Same reason.

Well, Apple can choose not to implement, but it would also mean that they are not standards-compliant. Flash became a de-facto standard mainly because the Flash Player ran on almost anything, and web sites turned to use it, but it is single-vendor dependent. HTML5's new features is supposed to solve that, although the problem about what video formats to support, etc. have hampered it. And Apple has led the charge so far to make it difficult. They need to agree on a single format that isn't encumbered.

The interface itself is agnostic.

Not really. Jobs doesn't like Flash because it is a processor hog and buggy, which it is. It is a proprietary technology held by a single company. HTML5 is an update to the web standard and will be supported by every browser eventually. The mobile browsers may be slow in adopting it not for technology reasons but because the cellular providers will be wary about the bandwidth it uses.

HTML5 will move iPhone apps to the web and that will definitely cut into Apple's very popular and profitable apps store which is why I really don't think you'll see HTML5 on the iPhone. However, if other phones do roll it out, Apple may be at a competitive disadvantage and be forced to roll it out.

I love my Droid. We are also very happy with our Verizon service. Much better in our area than AT & T. I want the eTicket also. I read an ad for Verizon on the Disney Insider saying it had an App that worked for Verizon. So sad it isn't for the Droid yet though. What a tease!

Please Please Please Please Droid APP!!!

The Droid phone has upgradable memory, you can get micro SD cards for it. Can you get that for the IPhone?

*sigh*..... Kevin, I know you said that it wasn't likely to happen... but we simply don't have ATT coverage where we live.... so it's Verizon for us. And, with a Droid and a Blackberry, we'd welcome EITHER having the eticket app!! :goodvibes

Verizon and motorola are releasing the new droid phone called the Devour! Can't wait
