I love these boards, however, I'm getting more and more confused as to which hotel to choose. We are a family of five (which narrows down our choices), and our kids are teenagers. We were originally thinking Poly because I've always wanted to stay there, but the kids don't even want to go to Magic Kingdom. Now after reading all your posts, I'm thinking we should try the Boardwalk for all the action or the Beach Club for the pools. Another thought is the Cont. Resort for the large rooms. Help me decide!!!
Of course, if they soon don't get summer codes out, we may just be going to the beach, lol. I'll cross my fingers that the flights aren't all booked up till the codes come out.

Personally, with teenagers, I'd probably try to get 2 rooms. In order to make it not be outrageously expensive, you'd probably want to stay in one of the moderates or WL or AKL. If you want one room, then I'd go with CR or Poly because of the size of the rooms. Which theme park you'll spend the most time at isn't a huge consideration since the transportation is so good. Poly might have a slight edge since you could walk straight to the TTC and board the monorail for Epcot without transfering.

eljojo,

The BC sounds like it would be perfect for you. Your teens would love the activities at the boardwalk. Plus you're closer to MGM, Epcot and the water parks.

Save the Poly for another time if MK is a no go.

Welcome to the Dis Eljojo:D Something you said makes me curious: Your kids don't want to go to MK?:earseek: Have they been there before?

Yes, we've been to Disney twice before. Our kids are teens now and love the wild coasters and rides. I'd hate to go to MK just for Space Mountain. Even our last trip when my kids were 7 and 11, MK was too tame for them. We only have 4 days in Disney since we're going to Universal for 2 days and the Space Center for another day. Thanks for all the advice!!

I'd try the BC, the location is great, Epcot is a walk away and MGM is a short boat ride. The "Boardwalk" has just a GREAT Vacation atmosphere. I am assuming your kids are older (teen age) maybe, and this area of "the world" is just great for older kids, not to mention the pool at BC: Stormalong bay, Hey you dont' have to worry about transportation to the water parks, your staying in one. Now since BC is a DVC resort they do have 1 and 2 bedroom villas that are rentable (I don't know how much though) but it is worth checking out.
Wherever you chose to stay enjoy, and Welcome to the DIS!

The BC sounds perfect for you. From what I understand some of the rooms sleep 5. It has a great pool and is within walking distance of Epcot and the boardwalk, both great places for evening entertainment. It is also a short boat ride to MGM. You should check over on the DVC board for renting points. Through renting points you may be able to get a 2-bedroom villa for a very reasonable price giving you TONS of space.
