I weighed this morning and gained 3 lbs from last Monday. :guilty: :crazy2:

I hope to do better this week.

:( I'm sorry--make sure you are drinking your requisite daily amounts of water....3 pounds could very easily be water weight...what your body does not have, it will hold onto for dear life!!! Also true for calories--if you are restricting your calories too much, your body will retain the fat and source its calories from elsewhere within the body.

Good luck at your next weigh-in!!!
(I fluctuate up to 6 pounds hi to low to hi in one week--it stinks when it goes up and great when it goes down!)

Probably could be water. I know my calories haven't dropped to low I'm struggling to get them down to start losing weight.

I know our water ran out a couple weeks ago and we haven't yet got the bottles filled. I do make tea/kool aid with tap water that has been filtered but even that I haven't been drinking much of because I don't need more calories.

Tried to get water the other day but it had closed by the time we came out of grocery store. Gonna go tonight and will get them filled up so I have water to drink all day.

Keep your chin up and don't get discouraged!!! It could be a number of things...is it around TOM, with that your weight could fluctuate 6-7 lbs...this is what the lady at WW told me. Just stick to it, and drink your water.

PS, how do you get the ticker at the bottom of your sig to change??? Like if you lose weight?? Thanks

I'm new to this board so sorry that I came in the middle. Anyways, if your goal is to lose weight(and who isn't?), try not to get caught up in the numbers on the scale. The important part is that your caloric intake is less than what you expend. Steady exercise and good eating habits will allow you to gradually lose weight the right way.

I think the weight fluctuation around TOM is even bigger for those of us with a lot of extra weight to lose. I know I can fluctuate 8-10 pounds around that time. Don't measure your success in terms of pounds lost, instead look to the days you stuck to your eating / exercise plan. If you were successful with the things you DO have control over, well that should count as a good week! :cloud9:

Perhaps start doing your measurements:

Bust,
Waiste
Hips
Thigh
&
Arm

Measure both and even if you don't see success in the pounds, you'll notice the inches adding up real quick :)

Definitely just water weight! When you lose weight, you need to drink extra water so that your body will let the excess water weight out, and so that the products of fat-burning, which are harmful, will be flushed out of your body. Once you start drinking enough water again, I'll bet dollars to low-carb whole-wheat sugar-free donuts that you'll see an enormous difference in the scale.

(Boy, low-carb whole-wheat sugar-free donuts don't sound terribly appealing, do they?)

And to emphasize -- if you know you're on the right track, don't worry about what the scale is telling you. That number is less important than if you are moving in the right direction to your own better health.
