I bought a 6 day ticket from AAA on feb 10, 2011.. I took these UNUSED tickets to the ticket office on 5-9-11 and told them I wanted to upgrade my tickets to annual pass. I got ANNUAL pass and then went into parks on 5-9-11 so I assumed that my expiration date would be 5-9-12. I just got home yesterday from our trip and noticed that my ANNUAL pass says expiration date of 2-10-12!!!! WHAT!!?? I called Disney and they said annual passes start from the first day into turnstile and end 1 year later (so that would be 5-12), but that I will have to call Ticket Office tomorrow when they are open!! What is going on? My next trip is 3-12!! Am I in the wrong?

If it's a year later you are in the right and they need to fix it. Disney is pretty good at customer service they will fix it.

I can't solve the floating expiration date from May to Feb, but I can tell you that if you upgraded your multi-day park tickets and used the AP for the first time on 5/9/11 (assuming that this was the date you upgraded), it would expire on 5/8/12.

Mine have always expired the day before the buy date.

I'd be curious to hear what CS says about the discrepancy on dates though....

oh, I hope so!! I just dont want to be out of $500!! I'm just sick!

Yikes! I *always* use my passes at least one day before upgrading it and I never have a problem with weird dates.

Apparently, the CMs have to key your dates in by hand and sometimes mess up. It happened to me once too but I noticed before walking away from the window.

We were in disney recently and I was planning on buying an AP for my DS for our next trip. I assumed I'd get a voucher like we do when we order them in the mail and that it would go into effect the day we brought it to the park. However, the CM said that it would be different buying from the concierge desk in the hotel and that the AP would go into effect that day. It wasn't a voucher he would be giving me but the actual AP. Sounds like this is what they do at AAA too. Needless to say we passed and I'll be ordering it online!

REally? If you buy an AP at DL it's good for 366 days...so if OP bought hoppers and used them on the first time on 5-9-2011 then the APs would be good until 5-9-2012, is that a perk for having a DL AP?

OP I don't know but I hope they make it right for you.....we just did the same thing, got hoppers from AAA (for DL not WDW), upgraded them and our passes expire a year and 1 day from the first use....good luck, let us know what happens.

They will fix it. Last year hey did this to us twice. We upgraded some old one day passes and went on our way. It was late evening (right after we arrived) so we just went back to our room feeling prepared for quick park entry the next day. When we got to the turnstiles at mk the next morning, our passes showed expired! Turns out they dated them from the original ticket purchase - the unused tickets we had upgraded. Thirty minutes later, after waiting in the hot sun with an infant for guest services, they send us off with new tickets. Head to the turnstiles and no problem :cool1:

The next day we headed to EPCOT. get to the turnstiles and once again, our tickets show expired! The new set were dated to expire the day we got them :scared1: off to guest services AGAIN! This time the wait was shorter but we were not happy. Took five minutes or so to correct and they were nice enough to give us one group fast pass for all our trouble - we used it for soarin! We were REALLY nervous but knew what to look for at that point and we didn't have any more trouble.

THey should fix it. I almost had that happen to me but I caught it. We upgraded our Undercover Tourist tickets to AP's in 2009. The CM said ok I'll upgrade them but they'll expire in Feb of 2010 (this was in May of 2009). I had to correct her saying it was the first day I used it NOT the day it was bought.

I'm sure they'll fix it for you.

Cheshire Figment just posted on another thread this evening that APs expired on the SAME date a year later, so you get 366 days. And he definitely knows.

I wondered why DL would give an extra day, it's good to know both parks are the same in that aspect. :)

I can do you one better. We had 1 days from free dining in August 2009 to upgrade last trip, April 2011. We went to DTD and decided to do it there, even though we would only get the value we paid, instead of going through the turnstile at MK and upgrading them there getting the current 1 day value. When we went to MK later that night, we put the ticket in at the turnstile and they were expired. They expired Aug of 2010, about 8 months before we bought them. Both dates were on the tickets. So our trying to save time by spending more money did not work out so well. The cast member at Mk guest services got a kick out of it. There was no line and it was fixed pretty quickly. They should not have a problem fixing it, the info should be in the computer.

Didn't read this until after I posted. I guess we were lucky. Our problem was quickly resolved the first time. I will be checking any time we do this in the future. You know now that I think about it, I think we had a similar issue with upgrading a one day to water parks and more at DQ in Aug 2009. Forgot about that until posting here. That time we caught it before leaving the counter.

That's how it worked for me. We bought our tickets on New Year's Eve for that very reason.

Everything is OK in the WORLD! Ha! The lady I talked with says this happens all the time. That is was obvious it was human error. She told me next time that I am there, just to take it to ticket counter and they would take care of it for me!! WHEW!!!

thanks, everyone! Late last night, I knew who I could turn to for quick answers!!!

I'm glad that they will be able to fix it for you! :yay:

Was wondering if anyone could tell me.......I have 6 day w/water this year, if we decide to do another day at the park, do I have to add on before I use my last day? Also if so will that add another water day? Will probably not even use all the water park plus ones. thanks

No but you have to do before 14 days from first use elapse. And yes, if you have the water parks option that will add another one of those as well.
