The budget has gone to He**. It started in April when we had a bad storm which knocked down one of our trees. $500 to have it removed. The tree damaged a small part of our siding and dented the gutter - $200. Next we had an oil tank removed from the front yard which we had never used because we had gas when we moved in 27 years ago. Turns out it was leaking and had to be remediated - $35,000 and still counting. We had to have landscaping done to replant grass and repair the sprinklers where the tank was - $1000.00. I noticed last week water stains on my brand new bathroom vanity and now my dishwasher isn't fully draining.

I'm doing all of the coupon deals to save a dollar here and a dollar there and it just goes right out the big hole in my pocket.

I really need my trip to Disneyland next week. Thank you for listening.

Oh and DH needs hernia surgery when we get back.

Hang in there, I've been going through something similiar, but not as $$$ as your situation. I opted to teach summer school this year to earn the extra money DD would need to go to France for 10 days. I put every check into savings minus the gas to get there. Every extra dime I saved went out in car repairs and two new garage doors...and I had to dip into the regular savings as well. The spring broke on my door, but when the garage door opener tried to lift it it split the center of the door in half--we have two doors, the door is over 30 years old and they do need to match.

Houses and cars are money sink holes.. can't live without them though, so we get stuck. Not sure where the money for France is going to come from, but I believe that if it is meant to be it will happen!
