I'm so spoiled now!

So, on our last two nights we had booked a studio at BCV. When DH checked in, they upgraded us to the 1-bdrm suite instead!

Man... I am so spoiled now... It was SOOOO great to have a washer dryer in the room, and a full kitchen. The last 2 nights, DS4 wanted a snack and I was able to just nuke some chicken nuggets for him. I loved having a large fridge too!

But even better than the sink... the king size bed! It was so nice after being in a double bed for a week with a 6'3" DH to be able to move around and have so much room.

I loved that a separate shower stall that was nice and big and that the toilet was separated all by itself.

I can definitely see why people buy into DVC! Those 1 bedrooms are great!

Yep, and the jacuzzi. Really romantic and ditto all of the above. I'm spoiled too, we were at BWV and are staying in a one bedroom at BCV in a few weeks. We were in a studio at OKW also and that was nice. In May we are doing that again. We rent from DVC owners, but even at that price, we can't afford a one bedroom every time.

oogieboogie-That is AWESOME. I think WDW "knows" what it is doing by upgrading people...of course you are spoiled now, and do not want to go back to small accomodations! LOL!

Were you paying cash for your room at BCV? The reason I am asking is we are renting points at BWV (only 6 more days ) and I was told there are no complimentary upgrades at DVC resorts. But I think they meant when using points, not with cash ressies. Thanks!

Oogieboogie, the Exact same thing happened to us several years ago. I had booked a BCV Studio through CRO. I called about before our arrival to verify PS's and while I was on the phone I was told we had a One Bedroom Villa. I panicked at the time, as we were on a plan I had pre-paid in full, and I was afraid that I was going to be charged extra. The CM said no, Disney had upgraded us. I was still afraid to believe our luck, so I went to check-in still expecting our studio. But no, We had a beautiful one Bedroom Villa. I was spoiled and HOOKED!!!! We have been back to the BCV 3 times, and I have always booked - and paid for - the One Bedroom. I absolutely love it.
I am happy for your unexpected upgrade and know exactly how magical it was for you. Congratulations.

Chances are slim to none to be upgraded when staying on points unless the room you have booked is taken out of inventory for some reason and even then they usually try to get you another room of the same specifications if they can. When staying on cash they will upgrade you I am sure it is a ploy to get people to fall in love with the accomodations and buy DVC LOL.

Glad you got a chance to see why all of us Members love DVC.

I am always surprised at the remarks about not wanting a villa with kitchen and laundry because the last thing they want to do is cook and wash.

To us it's not about "having" to do it, as we are on vacation and if we don't want to cook or wash we don't.

But to us it's about the convenience of a large refrigerator for snacks, drinks, things that enhance our stay. As to the laundry, it's always a blessing, for it seems someone in our group always spills something on a favorite shirt or pants and would love to wear them again without the cost of sending them to the cleaners.

The big jacuzzi and large walk in shower ain't bad either.

Glad you had a good time, when are you buying in.

I paid cash for it. We had booked 2 nights at BWI but we really wanted BC for SAB, so when CRO said there was a studio at BCV available for the same price as our room at BWI, we jumped on it.

I like BC to begin with, we'd stayed there before and I thought it was a really nice resort, the pool great, and the proximity to Epcot just can't be beat. But the 1-bdrm we got at BCV was even better. It was just a turn from the elevator (room 219) and entrance to BCV lobby. We didn't have far to walk to anything.

The only problem I had with it was that the garbage disposal was kinda stinky! I should've taken some lemons from one of our sit-down meals and ran it thru the disposal.

The 1 BR villas are great we have been at BWV a bunch of times and will be at BCV in 30 days. If you get caught in a rain storm you can pop your clothes in the dryer and don't have to worry about packing damp clothes for the trip home. We will be on the dining plan this trip but plan on breakfast in the room most days and this is the perfect place for that.

You are very welcome now we did get upgraded to a 1 bdrm in May at OKW but that was due to the fact that our studio was taken out of inventory for whatever reason and they didn't have one to give us so they gave us a 1 bedroom. It was a nice suprise but it is the first time that has happened to us ever with DVC.
